Seems to me that most on this site revert to previous seasons to justify a current season (player’s) projected success.
Based on this, the die is cast. Leary from Kentucky will be the best QB at year end.
As for why Wink? Simple, when Leary gives a “wink” after each TD this year…..well, you know.

Best stats? Heisman candidate? Highest draft prospect? Most valuable to their team? Winningest?
Will Rogers will break every passing record that Miss State has. When does his name come up about the SEC best? It doesn't. He simply was in a system that wanted to pass every down. 5 yards at a time.
BEST anything is a mirage based on media propaganda and pure stats. Most football fans buy-in because they don't know football. And they are sheep.

There isn’t enough data to make anything other than a wild guess at who will end the season as the best QB.
The best returning passer based on 2022 data points (rating, YPA, yards, etc) was KJ Jefferson and it isn’t very close.
He had a better rating than Bryce or Stetson, a 9.6 YPA average and that was despite a subpar offense around him statistically and from a talent standpoint.
If I had to pick a QB to play for Bama from the SEC this year it would probably be Leary followed closely by Jefferson. Jefferson has much better stats but Leary looks better from a raw skill standpoint.

Will Rogers peaked in '21, and he is currently on a plateau. Same with the kid from Arkansas who will miss time this year with an injury because of how much he runs. The real answer is Jaxson Dart. Big step up in year two of the Lane Kiffin system.

Joe Milton will be the first QB taken in the 2024 draft, if not the first player taken.

Joe Milton has the throwing touch of a shotputter. That's why he has sat and sat and sat, all these many years on everyone's pine. Guys that typically can throw it a mile can't put consistent touch on the ball and make it catchable.
You are in love with an idea.

Watch a few of his last games.

We're ahead of the curve this year. About half of our fans want Nuss to start against FSU.

I love the Devin Leary pumpers lol. Is he a talented player? Absolutely! Does Kentucky have as much or more talent than NC State? Probably. Does Kentucky play a much more difficult schedule than NC State? Definitely. He will be learning a new offensive system, on a new team, with new players and coaches. It doesn’t matter how talented you are. It will require some time. Look no further than Rattler at SC, by the end of the year he looked completely different.

Will Rogers is the most tenured, experienced QB in the SEC. He will produce this year. Experience matters.

Will Rogers won't get the votes, and maybe he won't deserve them, but odds are he will be the leagues new career passing leader, and that's not nothing

Hot take.
Carson Beck will be the first QB from the SEC taken in the draft.

I would not be surprised to see Dart and Rattler names being mentioned a lot based on their performance this season.

I'll be biased and go with Leary, but my non homer picks are Jefferson and Rogers.

Not the point. He also led the SEC in passing yards per game (364.5) and finished third in the FBS in total passing yards (4,739) His 4,739 passing yards were the third most in SEC single-season history … Ranked second in the SEC and seventh in the nation in passing touchdowns (36)
Rogers is also ranked at least 3rd best in the SEC this season in what is definitely a down year for QBs. That's the point.
