Agreed. Napier is HORRIBLY flawed as an SEC coach. He hasn't won a game yet.

He won't win a championship. He might win the East if he's around long enough.

Since 1992, every coach at UF has won the east except Will Muschamp & Zook, I'm not too worried about that. In other words, the only two coaches without previous head coaching experience.

And both of those at least got to #1 in the east (but lost via tiebreaker)

Too early to tell. He could be great, and he could be terrible.

It amazes me that the last few coaches struggled at UF. They are a premier program.

Looks like you need to be an all time great to win one at Florida. Dont think Napier is that.

I think he’s got a better shot than Brian Kelly.

No. But they'll be back in an NY6 bowl before you think they will.

Pros: Took a 5-7 team to 3-straight 10+ win seasons.

Cons: Never coached in P5

That's a really good looking resume. Reminiscent of Urban Meyer's at lower levels (BG & Utah).

Will it translate? In my opinion the question comes down to one thing: recruiting.

But I don't think there are too many coaches who win 77% of their games and collapse when they move up.

It reminds me of if Urban would've stayed at BG for an extra two years, and continued done really well there, instead of going to Utah.

Napier has a great resume, but it's thin and is yet to be proven at the P5 level (or even a higher-level G5 gig like Memphis/Cinci) as an HC.

Too soon to tell if it will translate to the SEC.

Took him years to learn how to beat APP State , when at UL; so it could take awhile.

I seem to remember when Gator posters were screeching that winning the SEC East wasnt anything big. My how things have changed since UF has gone into the dumpster.

I don’t think either one of them has a chance in hell

It took him 2 years and he ended up with 3 straight wins over them.

I can wait 2 years for Napier to start beating the best team in my conference.

It still isn't. Florida won it last year, completely meaningless.

Well don’t worry. UF won’t about that “meaningless” title again for a very very long time. BTW. How’s that recruiting going? Saw a graphic this morning where UF was dead last in the SEC - right behind Vandy. Something like #63? Can this be true?
