Seriously, not happening.

We would probably pay him more to stay at Clemson than to come coach in Columbia...

Ellis Johnson takes over and takes USCe back to their glory days of 1-11 seasons!!

But, what about this scenario? Spurrier coaches for three/four more seasons. In that time Chip Kelly does his all to make his system work in the NFL, but it's just not going like he/his bosses would like. He's now looking for a head coaching position back in the college game at just the right time one opens up in Columbia. He keeps Ward on as DC/AHC. Match. Made. In... Unh... Heaven!!
The timing would have to be perfect for that to line up. But it isn't out of the realm of possibilities, although I would think it would be pretty unlikely.

Charlie Strong is an interesting thought... he's got the ties to SC.

Charlie Strong won't leave UL for South Carolina. Probably Jimbo Fisher.

After you marinate on it a sec it seems a little more possible.

Gary Patterson or Chip Kelly

strong leaving UL is more a possibility than Fisher leaving FSU... assuming JF doesn't get fired first. Even with the move to the ACC, UL isn't anywhere near the level of job FSU is.

I would say Charlie Strong, only if we didn't hire someone already on the coaching staff.

Going on trend, Bobby Bowden.

No reason to think we can't get a big name to come to Columbia that will contend for tSEC in year one.
I don't think they have the power to draw a big name but maybe they get a hot shot up and comer whenever it happens.

Would be a great hire IMO.

Kirby Smart, Richt or Saban ain't going anywhere, so UGA and Bama are out for him. I could also see Larry fedora getting a look if he has any success at UNC.

I don't know. I just don't see a football coach viewing UL as a destination job. I'm still surprised that Strong turned down UT. He may feel some sort sense of "loyalty" for UL right now, but I have a feeling that could change in a few years.

Lulz and oh, BTW, Holtz and Spurrier say hi. Or were those two not big enough names?
Regardless, it will be Bubba.
