You don't even realize your program is being laughed at and it's not for a bad loss here and there..... it's for the sole fact that a program like bama claws and fights, just to keep an opponent like Vandy.

Sources in Tuscaloosa are saying DeBust doesn't want Vandy replaced with true opponent.

Think Ohio State doesn't have it made? The bottom half of the Big 10 really, really sucks.

It’s why they have pushed for 9 game schedules across the board for years. Northwestern, Purdue, Maryland, Rutgers, Indiana, and Minnesota have been garbage largely for the past 30 years. Now add a feckless UCLA, Lincoln Led USC, a neutered Washington, cool. Great job B1G.

Is this true?

If so and if the schools have any say at all in this the Vanderbilt AD should sell the rights to them being a permanent opponent to the three highest bidders.

What’s the deal with OU and Florida?

Not sure why he would want OU playing FL but it was leaked before they went to that 2 year 8 game schedule that for the SEC to get the matchups they wanted with this setup that FL and OK would very likely be permanent opponents. I think our other permanents were going to be GA and I think the 3rd team was either KY or SC. The plan was based on trying to get the upper half SEC teams 2 harder games out of the three and the lower traditionally SEC teams 1 harder game and 2 easier games.

I could see this happening. We definitely will get UTrans and probably LoSerU. Piggie has never had that "rival" feeling to me. Chokelahoma seems like more of a rival than piggie. Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed beating up on Piggie all these years.

I think every team will have one permanent opponent who is not necessarily a "rival".

Can't wait to see the next 4000 threads about this topic.

Of course not. Just another LSU fan with Down’s Syndrome and an obsession with all things Alabama.

Notice OP asked who should “YOUR” team’s 3 games be, yet nutria lover has only posted about Alabama.

Why are OU and Texas getting stuck with Mizzou? I’d rather see LSU, Tennessee, or Ole miss every year.

That'd be pretty brutal for Arkansas if OM and Texas can keep up their recent success. LSU will probably always be good with in state recruiting.

There should be no perm rivalries. Most fair way is a fully rotating schedule where every teams plays each other.

Agreed and some programs want to protect their "rivalries" while the fans claim there's no rivalry.

They can't claim to want to keep things about tradition because if tradition matters the SEC would have never adopted some of the teams they did.

Tradition and rivalries are basically gone from college football. The true alpha in this is MONEY.

You are right, of course.

Conference alignment based on geography is a thing of the past.

Will new traditions form or will the college football landscape keep evolving such that constant change is the norm and there is no more tradition in the traditional sense?

I'd like Uga, AwwBarn, and Cackalacky. Before 2012 conference expansion, Aubie was a permanent game and they are the geographically closest SEC school to Gainesville so I miss that game. I reside in the middle of the Carolinas and SCar is the next closest school to Gainesville and lots of SC has swamps, marshes, palmettos, spanish moss, humidity, food, and the lowcountry culture akin to Northeast FL so that's a nice fit. The LSU game is perhaps my fave game but they're further out west so I'd prefer the closer schools as permanents. Please no Kensucky as they lack enthusiasm and are far away over yonder dem hills up north, haha. Bayou trash Bengals and hillbilly Vawls would be next for me after the closer Barn and Cackys.

I don't know about permanent, but I'm ready for LSU to kick the dog shite out of Mizzou, so maybe they'll shut the frick up.

For Ole Miss, LSU and State for sure. Third game should probably be Arkansas, but maybe Bama or Vandy instead.
