our offense is back in the stone age for the moment.
Sure looked that way.

Not to troll, but WVU is maybe the worst defense in the last three years. Why they still run a 3-3-5 is beyond me. I swear Sims had 10 seconds to throw
Not saying theyre the greatest D but they lost 11 guys to injuries last year and should be improved. It was just a sloppy game on both sides imo .Yea we score 30+ but O never had a rhythm and D just sucked .

It's a good thing LSU is not playing Georgia this year. If LSU can't establish a run game early on against SEC teams, well I see LSU going 7-5 or 8-4. WR's look great, DB's look great, other than that, a lot to work on.

Neither. Neither team opened with a cupcake rent a win and both teams have some young players, both have new qb's and several new guys on defense. I fully expect that by the time we both get into league play you will see different teams than you saw last night. Let's not forget both teams won their opener and have plenty of room to get better on both sides of the ball. The SEC West is gonna be a dogfight this year.

What's WVU's ranking?
I thought preseason rankings didn't matter?

You know they only matter when they fit my argument.
Seriously, it's a toss up. WVU could have won if they caught those dropped passes, and LSU needed a huge comeback in the 4th to win. Both struggled.

Both teams have concerns

Both teams had question marks coming in. Both teams had to find it's identity in an early game. Sims is their starter, and Jennings is our starter. Let's go.

It's the exact situation as last year. Both teams won openers while not looking particularly great. Nobody needs to hit the panic button. Except Bradley Sylve. He should panic.

He did, when he had time he looked really good. Most of the incompletions were screens. When he learns to throw that pass look out, there was room to run for days on those plays.

LSU will be fine. The dominance we showed in the 2nd half with such a young team really impressed me. We need a couple of cup cake games to work out some kinks. AJ and our D settled down and played well at the end. If we can continue to build AJ's confidence....this can be a very deadly team. Both Bama/LSU have some concerns...but we also have plenty of time to improve.

LSU
Quarterback sucks
Their coach can't coach
NOBODY special on defense
Going to be a long year

I have already been concerned about LSU. We have alot of talent. We are just very young.
They didnt lookbad for an advanced HS team

Bama or LSU?
It doesn't matter. It is a well known and widely accepted fact that the SEC championship game participants are determined solely based on the outcomes of Week 1. So who wins the SEC, A&M or UGA?

Wisconsin will challenge for B1G title. WVU will finish 5th or below in Big 12. LSU will be ok. Not like LSU played a cupcake.

I'm not sold on Jennings

LSU, we couldn't run the ball worth a shite until that second LBer went out with an injury. Jennings lofting every pass he throws. Lots of kinks to iron out.
That's wasn't the biggest contributing factor. We started running the ball well when they finally decided to mix up the offense. After we showed them we could throw the ball the lanes started opening up. There were holes big enough for two backs to run through after the coaches decided to just let our guys play the game and quit babying jennings.

He showed a lot of poise. Jefferson would've been moping all over and pitching hissy fits by halftime. He never once looked like he was rattled. They just need to work on his touch on screens and the short stuff and he will be good.

Bama is currently in the "the spread is their kryptonite" mode, and they faced a potent spread/no huddle team. And yes, the hole in Saban's defense is still there; they lose their bite once he can't dictate every single play on defense. But they put up enough points to win anyway.
LSU faced Wisconsin, a bowl team with one of the best running games in the country, a huge chip on their shoulder concerning all things SEC vs Big 10, and an established superstar at running back.
To counter, LSU presented with ...a QB in his second start (and/or a freshman), a WR corps whose leader caught something like 6 passes last year (with freshmen being counted on), and a running game filled with career backups who'd had moments but never sustained success (oh yeah, and/or a freshman again).
I'd say Bama is the better team right now, while LSU should improve more over the course of the season.
