Massive enrollment leads to massive alumni base
And believe it or not many in texas don’t identify with the liberal SJW culture of the soy boy university in Austin. Much of Texas’s population are still independent and share a value system that clashes with what the university in Austin represents

Texas has a winning record against OU. Oklahoma doesn’t own Texas.
OU Has come close to owning them since 2000. They are 12-6 against UT this century.
