For a time we the Cobb-Webb and it was glorious. I wish we'd had the ability to repair knees back then like we do today. Webb would've set so many records it would've been unreal.
I don't think they even count his Cotton bowl 250 yds in his career stats, do they?

Duron Carter, the GOAT practice WR

Kerry Goode. He blew out his knee in the season opener against Boston College after rushing for something like 200 yards in the first half and then returning the second half opening kickoff for a td.
I remember the announcers saying that he looked like a serious Heisman contender before he got hurt.

Robert Lane or Jevan Snead. They really could've been good quarterbacks in this system.

Kenneth Hall. Greatest high school running back ever.
Beat me to it. Really the only answer I could think of, and anybody else on the list would be way below him.

Offense: Cecil "the Diesel" Collins
Defense: Tyronne Malone, 5-star can't miss recruit from the Houston area in the 1980's, a LB who before coming to LSU, speclialized in "sacking the QB."

I miss the "Hey what happened to Duron Carter?" threads on Scout every week

Cecil Collins distantly followed by Alley Broussard...he was so fun to watch pre-injury.

I really don't know. If they don't, they should at least put an asterick and note it (gives people that don't remember or know a chance to see 'wow that guy had potential.')

To an extent Tray Blackmon fits this mold. He could knock heads off...the problem is he didnt have a head...dumb as they come.

I thought of Tray....another would be Alan Evans. He was a stud running back at Enterprise HS, I mean unstoppable. Gets to Auburn, can't seem to catch on to running the wishbone and AU had some other running back that I can't remember his name that did pretty good. Alan blew his knee out iirc, and then transferred to a Div. II team.

1985 Parade Magazine National player of the year. Biggest recruit Mizzou ever landed. Played in a high school all star game in 86 right before coming to Mizzou and blew out his knee on the second carry of the game. He was never the same after.
Czar beat me to it, he is a great what if for the whole program. The Dark Ages of Mizzou football had just began and he may have been that superstar that helped keep Mizzou football relevant.

Linnie Patrick, RB, who played in Bear Bryant's last seasons. He could have been a stud but he was almost always in Bryant's doghouse.

Prothro would have been in New York had he not been injured against Florida.
