Shouldn't it be "sister state"?

I grew up in Georgia and currently live in Virginia. There are a lot of similarities—old southern, coastal states with some history. The same could be said for the Carolinas too.

Western Arkansas and Eastern Arkansas aren't even that similar, so no, we don't have any state to compare ourselves to.

Mississippi fits the East.

Southern Missouri fits the west, sort of. But also Eastern Oklahoma or NE Texas, minus mountains.

For Tennessee the answer is obvious. We share so many cultural, educational, and natural beauty characteristics it has to be Hawaii. It’s a crying shame we live next to a bunch of red neck States. We deserve better.

For Georgia, it’s New York, because Atlanta is the NYC of the south

Surely there is a volcano or two in those "mountains" to the East, right?

Dude you stay in Tennessee. The entire state is filled with uncultured hillbillies. A degree from Vandy doesn’t change that.

Considering the fact that Alabama was once Mississippi, there's the answer

I can see why they relate

I hope Pele (the fire goddess, not the soccer player) is not reading this or she will curse you for comparing Hawaii to Tennessee.

The only thing the two halves have in common is Arkansas athletics. It really is surprising just how different the two sides of the state are from one another culturally, economically, and even politically.

Georgia since Georgia's job was basically to protect South Carolina from Florida.

Mine would be...
South Carolina - North Carolina. Culturally similar... They don't call em the Carolinas for nothin.

Kentucky - West Virginia. Beautiful areas followed by meth houses and unemployment.

Florida - Louisiana.
Life is lived on the water. Florida man and LA man news stories are comparable.

Arkansas-Texas. Texarkana, nuff said.

Alabama-Mississippi. The middle of nowhere AL and Miss are identically depressing.

Tennessee-Oregon. Beautiful outdoors and great fishing with each having a larger desirable city to live in.

Your brother is California now with all of the fruits and nuts moving to the Lone Star state. Have fun with that.

There is some truth to that.

UM is to Bama what State is to AU.
