With (2) Krispy Kreme's in Knoxville my guess is the glory days are in the past.

Wrong.

Nevermind the fact 2 teams had far and away better claims and your team had a bowl ban.

The University of Tennessee is older than the state of Texas itself. The originial Tennessee Volunteers started the state of Texas by liberating it from Mexico. Also the SEC was literally founded in Knoxville, TN. But yea, Texas is the "real UT" lol

The band geeks on Reddit CFB were also overwhelmingly in favor of not playing a 2020 college football season out of concern for COVID-19, so forgive me if I don’t put a lot of stock in their opinions.

It makes too much sense to call them UTX and UT.

VFL1800FPD, since you see a pussy every time you look in the mirror, I can understand why you would confuse a uterus with a Longhorn. No way in hell you would ever stand in front of 2,000 pounds of beef.

I know it's hard to accept the reality that "The Volunteers", your state university's mascot, choose to live and die in Texas rather than stay in Tennessee.

There are only 2 in Austin, as well...

As for Knoxville...there are one each in nearby Sevierville and Pigeon Forge.

That’s not the point. Just because several selectors favored OU, we don’t claim it because it wasn’t AP or UPI.

Oklahoma was also on probation and bowl ban in 1974. Guess what? AP selected OU. Therefore it’s a legit claim.

Keep at it though. You’ll lose this debate always.

The point is Bama and ND went undefeated and untied in the regular season, you did not. Then ND beat Bama (after coaches poll released). OU has 0 claim.

You’re still missing the point. Tennessee had selectors in a year they didn’t win either the AP or UPI the same way OU did in 1973. Problem is, you’re claiming a title while OU doesn’t claim because most sane fans of the game know it’s AP and UPI from 1936-2013.

You’re missing the point. UT claims 2 that are not legit. Then they claim 2 that are not AP but are 100% legit, one being 38.

No one cares if the Dunkel dork system gave you a claim to 1973. Anyone with half a brain knows OU has 0 claim to it. No one cares if OU only claims AP/CP.

It's two. It'll never not be two until ya'll win another. The titles y'all now "retroactively claim", as embarrassing as that is, are in years you didn't even split the title, neither of the major polls selected you. It's as sad as Auburn or UCF claiming to be "National Champion".
