"UT" is Tennessee. They were a school before Texas was even a state.
And that school was Blount College. You don't have to be a public university of a state to have a brand name that has been registered and or legally used in commerce. Regardless & to that matter "republic">"state".

It’s the color my granddaughter’s diaper is after she eats carrots.

Over 10 publications selected UT.
The AP and to a lesser extent, the coaches poll, are all that actually matter as it pertains to National Champions in the pre BCS era. Anything else has the same legitimacy as Auburn's Golf Digest National Championship or whoever it was that named UCF National Champion.

Is. Debate a wall.

We’ll still keep claiming it and the rest of our championships, thanks. Your opinion on UT sports is about as worthless as dog shite.

This is the dumbest subject. Can't get to Saturday fast enough to start the SZN and quit talking about dumb bs like this. The 'real' UT and if Texas is 'back' is media coked up bs.

Glad my opinion (and yours) doesn't count, only facts.

Couldn’t be more wrong.

This isn’t some random arse publication selecting X school when every other one selected Y.

12 publications named OU the national champion in 1973, but we don’t claim it since it wasn’t AP or UPI. Tennessee only has claims to TWO.

quote:you remind me of the Greek dad in my big fat Greek wedding who could tell you the origin of a word, any word, is Greek.
Living in Texas, he would have learned about how some of their cities got their names like:
Houston - Named after Tennessean Sam Houston
Dallas - Named after George Dallas (vice president under Tennessean James Polk)
Garland - Named after US Senator Augustus Garland (born in Tennessee)
Denton - Named after Tennessean John B. Denton
I could go on...
Can you explain how the origin of El Paso is Tennessean?
Posted on 8/24/23 at 10:35 pm to Who_Dat_Tiger
Sure. El Paso is named after Tennessee Senator John L. Paso.

That's the female reproductive system hillbilly, the uterus is the womb.
It's called Burnt Orange, the masculine version of orange.
This is an image of vaginas and the bitch shade of orange:

I spotted a John Kerry sticker on the dude in the bottom left. This photo is from '04. Nice throwback image of VFLs.
