Just so you cocks know I don't consider him a bust at all. Was just trying to figure out why someone would suggest it.

This was a very popular meme on the SEC Rant 5 years ago. Most of it was in jest, but plenty of people genuinely believed Clowney was a bust in college and continues to be one in the NFL.

I would have guessed it to have been a volleyball or softball player

Florida QB Driskell was highly recruited and he was a bust

He was pretty screwed by Muschamp's obsession with trying to install a pro-style offense. He would have been great under Meyer or Mullen.

Ronald Powell is definitely the answer for UF.

Not sure I would include him. He played well as a true freshman then got caught in the middle of the squabble between Nutt and Malzahn. He wisely chose to transfer, but foolishly chose to transfer to USC, who had two NFL QBs in Sanchez and Barkley on the roster. But he was still considered a very talented and capable backup.

FWIW, I always felt bad for him. He seemed like a good kid and had his shite together off the field. I think the last time I saw him he was at Randall Cobb’s wedding.

Pretty much....Botch didn't know how to handle high ranked players because he'd never had any at CMU or Cinncy.

I'd say K-Mac with all the hype was the biggest followed closely by Richmond.

I wouldn't say he failed at LSU, we just were never able to find a position for the 5 star to strive in, he was a decent reciever

He went 8-0 as a starter and had the Hogs nationally ranked before things truly melted down between Nutt and Malzahn.

Now, from what I have heard from folks who knew him back then, Mitch was a world class douche bag in high school and college, but that doesn't detract from his talent. If he had gone to almost any other FBS school at that time he'd have been a starter.

Since we are talking about the biggest bust who didn't work out at the school... Arkansas had a porn star come to school and she had a melt down within a few months and left I believe. A former Miss Teen Colorado I think? Anyway she probably has to fall somewhere in the discussion of biggest bust.

Yeah, its pretty hard to top DGB. Once in a lifetime talent but a complete flake. I'd say we have a winner here.

That whole situation was fricked-up.

But, the name that first comes to my mind is Gary Brashears, Jr. Parade All-American QB in I believe 1999.

Sean Smith 5* Safety from Opelika. Dominated the largest division in Alabama high school and didn't do shite at Auburn

Has to be Kyle Allen. Lost his job to a midget, pouted, transferred to Houston, was 3rd string behind a converted WR, then left early for the NFL draft having not taken a snap in 2 seasons.

I've just always thought he was lazy and took a lot of plays off.

Figured he made the right choice not coming to Alabama, as I don't think it would have worked.
