There are clearly teams elevated a lot by their QB. Auburn without Newton is probably an 8-4 type team.

True. Beck is not Cam Newton. He is not a QB that can carry an entire team. But Newton was not the only player on that team. And has already been pointed out, we have no 5* OLinemen starting, and most of our receivers are 3* and maybe a 4* or two. So to say they are carrying Beck seems silly.

Beck got the ball out quicker than any QB last year (2.38 second) while maintaining a 72.4% completion ratio at 9+yards per.

He will be the first pick in the Draft. He may not be the most prolific QB in College.

Penn State supposedly had the #1 defense in the nation last year

That's weird, as all the Iowa fans were saying they had the #1 defense in the Big Ten prior to the Citrus Bowl.

Hard to see how PSU had the #1 in the nation while Iowa had #1 in the B10.

Ewers or Dart. Ewers has played the best competition so far. Dart has had a cake so far.

What do you want in a QB?

Beck is ideal for UGA that needs a solid game manager

Dart fits Kiffin with his all or nothing style

Nico is still a bit raw but has more upside than anyone in college playing today

Ewers is a gamer that’s going to give max effort but is limited

Anybody who watched the Peach Bowl can tell you that’s all the announcers talked about. Penn State having the #1 overall defense. They weren’t making it up.

Eric Dickeron was at the LR TD Club last week.

He told the story or how he committed to A&M. Goe a trans am. Then switched to SMU. Kept the car.

Ask why he said because A&M didnt have cheerleaders. I guess history would be different if you had girls as cheerleader instead of dudes?

Ohio State made a huge mistake letting Ewers getaway.

I didn't read the whole thread so maybe this was already addressed. Ohio State didn't let Ewers get away. He was never going to stay. He grew up always wanting to play for Texas.

Ewers was able to graduate high school after his Junior year. The way the laws were in Texas at the time, he couldn't get NIL money being under 18. He could in Ohio. So, he went to Ohio State, got paid for a year, and then transferred back to Texas.

There's no need to fight over that meaningless stat. All of those Big 10 defenses were vastly overrated the last couple of years, because the Big 10 offenses were, on average, putrid.

OK. I guess that settles it. Some announcers said something.

I thought Nico was just okay against NCSU. Not even just talking about the interceptions. He had a few incompletions that were pretty far off base.

One interception was a bad read. The other was a pass that was batted up at the line of scrimmage and was picked.

He is a Freshman and will have the typical setbacks that Freshman have. Dart is #1 in the FBS in passer efficiency. I would say through the first 2 games, he is the top QB in the conference.

Yep.

Here's what I said on the 4th, before the NC State game.

He's a RS Freshman gunslinger. He's gonna throw some picks.

It's expected. The kid is super confident. And he should be.

I agree and am not writing him off, just saying that there isn't any real evidence he should be considered a top 3 QB in the SEC yet. I suspect he will have a very good career.
