Saban has damn near an all new staff including new OC and a 1st time DC. Bama lost 12 players to the draft and all 6 of there top DBs.

He just bounces back with the most dominant team in modern history.

This is by far his best coaching job. All new staff and massive player departures and the team is better.

Is that not part of coaching?

I mean people in this thread are acting like it is ludicrous to include Saban in the Top 3 .

He replaced his whole coaching staff and is 11-0 and has won every game by 20+ points. BUT HELL JERMY PRUITT MIGHT GO 6-6 AND JIMBO WENT 8-4.

This is the year I’d give it to Saban. No team has seriously overachieved, and Bama has been dominant.

Should give it to O for (possibly) doing what Miles did 5 times.

It’s between Pruitt and Stoops.

Stoops or Saban at this point. What Bama has done is pretty impressive.

Mullen should be ahead of Pruitt and O. The Gators were 4-8 last year and they’ll likely finish this year with nine or ten wins.

Returned all the suspended talent. Several, including Phil Steele, saw you as national dark horses. I had you second, so I expected you to be much better with the talent he was working with. I realize you aren't at Urban Meyer talent level, but neither is your record or play on the field.

If we're gonna go by that, just give it to Saban ever year dude.

Pruitt over Mullen? Ed over Mullen? He beat both..one badly..with a four loss team and is likely to finish the season 9-3

Trolling or stupid?

I always laugh at the “But Saban has all that talent” counter argument. As if that isn’t a huge part of coaching. As if Saban isn’t coaching at a high level.

It’s like saying Daniel Day Lewis shouldn’t get the Oscar because he had a great script to work with.

Season's not over. Lots of coaching (for some) left to do. Stoops has lost 3 games, including one to the last place East team. His team is loaded with seniors. If he goes 8-3 next year, we'll talk.

UT is that last place team. You really gonna give a COY award to a last place coach? EO might be a candidate, as is Saban, Smart, and Mullen. If Smart happens to beat Tech and Bama, it's him. If Saban wins out, he'll get the nod. Depends on those two scenarios for the other two.
