He's a lot like LSU's defense every year. Lot's of hype, but falls "short" when stacked up against Bama.
No. By all means LSU could have the better D, but to think so right now and be sure of it is homerism. And Mathieu may be over hyped, but he isn't over rated.

All it takes is size to stop Oregon in the trenches. Bama would have done better against Oregon than you

including uga. they would have got waxed by oregon considering richt couldn't stop boise state.

Bama, UGA, and USCe would have done just as good against Oregon as you did.
I'd take LSU's defense against a team with a speedier offense. Bama was better at stopping conventional offenses; it's why they had so much success against LSU's offense. Well that coupled with horrid QB play

Yes, anyone would have done good against GSU if they took the time to care about playing against a team in the FCS.

Why is everyone arguing about 2011? Is there even a question about who had the best defense in 2011? No. There's not a single person in the country outside of the LSU fanbase who doesn't think that Bama had the best defense in the country by far, so let's move the discussion back to the 2012 season.

Upshaw was the only one you'd have to worry about when taking on a speedy offense. Mosley would have had a field day.

Here's to hoping the entire 2012-13 Season falls into this category since Saban can't control his players.

If UGA played Boise again after the season was over UGA would have won 42-7.
So now your imaginary outcomes have 49 point swings over their real life counterparts. Thanks for proving how delusional you are.

Depends on what you mean by best. Bama may well be the best statistically again, as their defense is built to shut you down and get off the field.
Of course, all defenses want to do that, but LSU is built to allow more yardage while taking more risk and depending on turnovers and big plays from the defense.
Which will be better? Just like last year, both will be among the best defenses in recent years and 122 (or however many) other FBS teams would gladly trade defenses with either Bama or LSU.

Because LSU fans are still grasping at straws and it's too tempting to respond. I'm just gonna ignore their posts about it now though.

because your retarded brethren are saying that last year is the reason bama will have the better defense this year. At that point i had to point out y'alls ridiculously easy OOC schedule last year compared to ours. At which everybody got extremely mad and butthurt and claimed Clemson was awesome.

OSU deserved a shot at the title more than Bama did.

If beating up on the Big XII which was filled with overrated teams means you did something good then I agree 100%.

And that was countered by showing that Bama had the better defense against conference opponents. Bama was better in 2011, back to 2012.
