It was War Damn Eagle long before anyone said Roll Damn Tide... and it has no business in Roll Tide. That's a phrase the trashy sidewalk alumni like Harvey Updike use.

War Eagle is said to have come from a civil war era engagement. Roll Tide came from a 1930's era sports writer who coined the term I believe.
