Both teams are playing great basketball but their wins over Kansas last week were impressive. I hope I'm wrong but they will be a tough one.

I'm not counting out Buzz and A&M. They are certainly capable and anything can happen but if you are asking to put down my marker, gotta go with Texas.

upset at the seed, and having to play a tougher team rnd 1. also texas is much better than the # 16 or so team we should be facing in rnd 2, none of which concern me as much.

I’ll be honest and say I didn’t like seeing that pop up and was shocked A&M was a 7. To me it is pretty evident they lowered their seed to create this scenario.
I don’t think any Texas fan can ever feel that great about the tournament - we are used to having the kinds of teams you can’t trust - and although it shouldn’t matter - if you don’t have that kind of pedigree and history it just organically makes you feel nervous about the prospects. That being said, if I was ever going to trust a Horns hoops team it would be this one. The maturity and age of the team, great FT shooting team, depth, good guard play - it’s what you want for March. It doesn’t mean we can’t fizzle out in the second game, just makes me feel better about our position and that we can handle adversity - obviously we’ve had it in spades this year with the Beard ordeal.
If you want to be technical both teams got screwed - though I will say I’m very optimistic about the other half of the bracket if we can make it to the second weekend. Houston/Xavier probably would’ve been my first two picks for 1/3 seeds respectively.
