The only correct answer is to root for:
(a) the rival outside of the division or
(b) the rival higher in the division standings.
Since they can't both lose, pick the loss that helps your team more.

frick Auburn, but I will root for them over UT.
UT can burn to the ground for all I care. I hold them responsible for Bama's worst era ever... and those of us who were going to every game from 2000-2006 and suffering through that shite will, like myself, always hold a deeper hatred for UT than anyone else.

My uncle, who played for Shug in his last years, said he would pull for the al qaeda all-stars over Bama. It doesn't go quite that far for me. Course the only real rivalry that interests me is the recently acquired College Station glee club and JFF bump and grind show.

At one time I would root for UT but my hatred of Auburn has died down a lot so I think I might root for Auburn.
