Florida issued a statement Monday saying "we have made no job offers to anyone" after reports surfaced that Gators had contacted Freeze. A source told ESPN.com's Brett McMurphy that Florida never contacted Freeze or Ole Miss about the opening.
This will always be a school's official statement if they do not hire a coach. An offer is never formalized unless it has already been agreed upon to be accepted.

Lol. They always say that. Same as when Auburn came out and said they never offered anyone but Freeze when they hired him.
Anyway, try to go for Lane. He's a great coach, but he's not leaving Oxford. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Realistic list: Tier A Kenny Dillingham Tier B Alex Golesh Eric Silverfield Jon Sumrall Tier C Pete Golding Blake Baker Will Stein
Your list answers the Second question about who can be hired but doesn’t applied to the op

If he wasn't 64 years old, I'd go after Cignetti. That guy can coach!

Bobby Petrino is 64 years old but could still have 10 or more years of coaching left in him.

Indiana knows that and signed him to new deal with a huge buyout

Why is Lane held in such high regard? He had a very talented team last year and gave away 2 wins

Florida football is a dead program
Best to shut it down and reallocate to basketball
Simple as that

Program dead and not coming back
Might as well shut down football, join the ACC and become a full time basketball school

Do you think Lea would leave, with him playing there and being an ALUM
100%. Florida isn’t a job you say no to and stay at Vandy.
Florida should back the truck up for Lea. He’s winning at the worst school resource wise in the SEC.
Give him UF’s resources and he’s winning nattys

What exactly has Lane Kiffin ever won? Haven’t seen him in Atlanta or the play offs. He steals a big win every few years and the rest is mediocre at best.

Lea is a Vandy grad who loves his school. Don’t see him moving. Especially to the hot mess he would take on at Florida.

Easy answer: Kiffin and he fits perfectly at pretty much any Florida schools.
He may or may not have reached the ceiling at Ole Miss. He’ll definitely get a lot more elite recruits at Florida though.
