I would be a fool to say Saban didn’t play a role in the 2007 team.
I’ve simply found it interesting the difference in the storylines regarding two similar situations.

I’m not saying he didn’t play a role. But acting like it’s “Lane’s team” when Lane had the opportunity to take the team with him and for the most part failed makes them fundamentally different situations. And for the record, I’ve never thought less of Les for that championship. It was much harder to win a Natty back then for things out of your control.
