A&M's blowing bubbles is dumb as hell. The "ball 4, ball 5, etc..." chant isn't bad at all, but blowing bubbles should be embarrassing for them.

Vanderbilt's support for Union Naval operations is the obvious tie, but the extent of riverine operations to control waterways and provide naval artillery support in and around Tennessee were pretty significant for both navies.

As an Aggie I find this embarrassing. But to the original question...

Grown men and women barking has always been cringe to me. This would be a UGA tradition for all you cavemen!

Anchors Aweigh is the US Navy fight song and makes sense. They are pulling up anchor and coming to kick some arse. Anchor Down doesn't make sense in that you are basically shutting the ship down from operations/battle.

That was the first thing that came to my mind as well. I understand that they’re the bulldogs and all, but I’m with you... there’s something about that barking that’s always been really weird/silly to me.

Florida’s 2-bits pregame is silly as well. That’s another one.

Makes sense that an Aggie would post this. Two guys wearing mums holding hands at Kyle Field would look weird.

It serves a purpose as it both intimidates and annoys opponents.

I will never understand rolling your own trees, so that's #1. Yell leaders probably a close second.

I can see how calling the Hogs would be annoying to opposing players/fans but it's very unique just like the mascot. There's nothing like a huge crowd calling the Hogs. Goosebumps. It's pretty cringe I admit, in small groups or when they start the cheer with a wolf howl. Ugh.

For me it's au...I mean rolling a tree every time something halfway goes good, heck their team doesn't even have to win. Let a rival lose. Next thing you know they'll be rolling the trees when someone takes a proper dump.

Figured you would've said The Running of the Gumps.

Don't think there's a comparison. That gump run is just sad. Bunch of fat nasty rednecks running to get an autograph.. I'm certainly not the type of person that would do this. I bet these people had tears of excitement in their eyes.

Take a look..

The tree rolling thing is the stupidest tradition of any school in the US. I MIGHT understand it if it were your opponents trees, but your own trees? I just don’t get it. UGA has saved Auburn a lot of toilet paper this century though.

I'll say the school with the allegedly fully functioning adults barking at other people.

I substituted some of your words, but the ideas are the same.
Traditions are for your students and grads—for fun.
Who cares if someone doesn’t like calling the hogs?
They can suck it.
