Whether that player exceeded expectations or didn’t live up to the hype; which former SEC player surprised you the most at the next level?

Mine would probably be Tim Tebow. As an LSU fan, i honestly thought he would go on to win a super bowl atleast.

I was so sure Morris Claiborne was going to be an absolute stud.

Terrell Davis, because I had no idea he was an UGA RB in the '95 draft.

From 6th rd. pick to

For Alabama it was probably Eddie Jackson. Arguably the best safety in the NFL. I never would have guessed that after the 2014 Iron Bowl.

I'm surprised that he had as much success in the nfl as he did.

At Florida, he was throwing to green grass and players were running under it. His highlight films don't own any quality DB coverage.

He willed whatever offensive success he had at Denver (wasn't much, but often enough with that defense).

Surprised the most? Emmitt Smith
I knew he was great. But I didn't think of him as great in the NFL. It's just another level. Dallas was the perfect fit

He would have been a first round draft pick if it hadn’t been for his mid-season injury, IMO. I thought he was elite towards the end of 2015 and up until his injury in 2016.

I’ll throw in Robert Foster. He caught 39 passes for less than 400 yards during his career at Alabama. He put up more yards during his Rookie season at Buffalo, including multiple 100+ yard games. Struggled with injuries in ‘19.

I thought he might get a couple of years in the league, at most.

200 games later, I was wondering how he was still in the league.

Lock really surprised me in his small sample size this season. He obviously has all of the talent in the world, but I didn’t think he could read defenses or make more than 1 read after the snap. Turns out Lock was the QB experts bragged about his freshman year. Think Odom’s staff just stinks. Feel like Odom owes Lock his life for not exposing him...

Underachieved: I thought Rex Grossman was going to be a beast in the NFL (even with Spurrier's Fun and Gun offense)

Overachieved: Matthew Stafford. I wasn't huge on him coming out, but he has done pretty damn well for the Lions and I'm a huge fan of the guy in general.

Dude has been a mainstay of that Seattle defense for a while now. One of the best LB's in entire league. I'm a fan.

State fans - Was he that good when he was in college? I don't remember really hearing much about him. If I'm getting this wrong feel free to roast me.
