Do you know who was Florida's coach before spurrier? You're really killing your own argument

State fans don't have unrealistic expectations and should not hesitate to expect Joe Moorhead to take them to the promised land.

Again, more fans putting words in my mouth. We are strictly talking this year. Anything after that is up in the air.

Yeah, Chip Kelly was an OC at freaking New Hampshire before he went to Oregon.

Like 30 years ago? Jesus man, let’s at least try to keep our points relevant.

Actually, you know what, the fact that you had to go back 30 years to find 1 example actually frickin solidifies my argument

Remember this thread and we can check back in at the end of the season. I have some good friends who are hardcore state fans so I always keep my eye on the dawgs anyway. (Was unfortunately in Davis Wade for the LSU skull fricking last year...)

I'll bet you a bottle of whiskey MSU doesn't win 9 games this season.

I’ll take that bet. 9 regular or including bowl game? Bobleedagger@gmail.com. I’ll actually pay up if we don’t. Shoot me an email

Sure, take a glance at Dan Mullen's coaching career and experience and compare it to Joe Moorheads. That right there (before you even dive into x's and o's) is enough to make assumptions about why State will likely struggle to maintain its level of success in the SEC.
There may be a very talented roster in place but its a crapshoot if that's going to meld with a new coaching staff. I don't think its as easy as you think.

Recruits seem to be melding with his philosophy just fine. If he can sell them on the staff, I believe he can sell our current players. Just my opinion, but I understand where you’re coming from.

Alabama, it is always Alabama

We truly expect to win the National Title every year. Now granted, Alabama has been doing just about that under Coach Saban.

What's scary is to think about how close Alabama was come to winning the NC 9 out of the last 10 years. 5 of 9 is amazing enough, but we could be talking 9 out of 10.

So there's nothing unrealistic about expecting a national championship at Alabama in any given year while Saban is there.

You asked for one. There's plenty more. shite I could even list the guys who were HCs before (at actual FBS schools) if you'd like.

Y'all sucked huge balls for 10 years before that. It takes more than what you're giving Saban credit for

I said the same thing in the thread asking if Saban could have had the same success at any other school in the SEC. Too many people downplay the impact of Mal Moore, Bill Battle, and the Alabama tradition, mystique, or whatever you want to call it.

Florida’s greatness as a program was established well before Urban stepped foot on campus, but good try.

Uhhh, no. Steve Spurrier's greatness had been well established.

Let me put it to you another way:

As of the late 1980s, what was the only SEC school to have neither an SEC football championship nor a basketball championship in its entire history?

Hint: It ain't Vandy.

FPI helped me win my bowl board. I think FPI is fairly accurate

No argument there. Alabama is as strong right now as any program since mid 90s Nebraska.
