I truly believe it will be A&M
I think the Big 6 is a misnomer because A&M has won championships in the 80's and 90's If A&M would have joined instead of Arkansas in the early 90's the SEC would have a Big 7

You do understand you have to win the SEC WEST first right? Just to get there?

It'll actually be a East school. One of them will get there and pull a upset. Not this year or next maybe but I could see a USC or Missouri getting there and somehow pulling it off. Esp if the West team is a first timer too (doubtful)

in the SEC?

UGA has won a few SEC titles in the 2000s but that doesn't make us the cream of the crop in the pac 10.

A&M came pretty close to winning the West their first year in conference
If the LSU game was the last game they would have won

LOL no. You had a Heisman QB and couldnt even win the West. aTm is a below average program that wants desperately to be like Texas

80's aTm "Championship Seasons":
1985 - 10-2 (Lost to Alabama in opener which lost to SEC Champion 9-1-2 Tennessee). No SEC Championship that year for aTm.

1986 - 9-3 (Lost opener to LSU which won the SEC that year). No SEC Championship that year for aTm.

1987 - 10-2 (Lost opener to LSU that year...Auburn won the SEC that year). No SEC Championship that year for aTm.

90's aTm "Championship Seasons":
1991 - 10-2 (Lost to freakin Tulsa...Florida edged out Alabama for the SEC that year). No SEC Championship that year for aTm.

1992 - 12-1 (would have had a shot...but Alabama went undefeated and won the NC that year). No SEC Championship that year for aTm.

1993 - 10-2 (would have had to play Auburn 11-0, but on probation and couldn't play for NC. SEC won by 11-2 Florida. Florida's only losses were to undefeated Auburn and NC Florida State). Probably no SEC Championship that year for aTm...but might have been able to represent the West.

1998 - 11-3 (SEC won by 13-0 NC Tennessee). No SEC Championship that year for aTm, but might have represented the West.

So if the SEC were to add Tulsa and Southern Miss we would have to make it the big 8?

All those conference USA championships

You need to actually win (not almost win) at least 2 SEC championships (B12 means nothing) before we can even begin this conversation. But even then it will probably still end with the same answer.

I agree... of course the "Other 8" you are up against are not exactly an attractive group. So I'm not sure how impressive this is.

But Texas A&M by far has the most going for it. If any program in America were to pull off what Florida did in the 1990s (go from mediocre program to National power in a decade), it would have to be Texas A&M.

Here's why. Let's look at the size of each state for the "little 8" in terms of population:

27,500,000- Texas
6,100,000- Missouri
4,900,000- South Carolina
4,400,000- Kentucky
3,000,000- Mississippi
3,000,000- Arkansas

I didn't include Tennessee because let's be honest, Vandy is not really ever going to take that state.

Now let's take a look at the size of each stadium... while on its own it doesn't mean anything, it does show a commitment to football by the University and its fans:

102,733- Texas A&M
80,250- South Carolina
72,000- Arkansas
71,168- Missouri
64,038- Ole Miss
61,337- Mississippi State
61,000- Kentucky
39,790- Vanderbilt

Again, Texas A&M dominates.

The foundation has been built. Texas A&M has all the tools it needs. For whatever reason though, they've not quite arrived. It's like everyone is waiting for it to happen, but people are starting to get tired of waiting.

I would put my money on Arkansas. They are one of the few non big 6's to already make it to Atlanta. They are occasionally built to be monsters and Bert does have some nice wins already with unified support from the fan base.

Their style of play under Bert is also SEC proof and not some gimmick style that gets stopped by the elite SEC teams.

And if 4th and 25 doesn't happen we win the West last year and curb stomp UF in Atl for the rematch.
But it didn't happen and that's how sports go.
