UNC has finally got their notice of allegations from the NCAA for their fake classes that administrators guided student-athletes to.
Do you think any SEC school or schools have a similar system in place for their athletes?

Every school does. Vanderbilt offers a major in "Human Organizational Development" (HOD) which is a favorite for athletes and girls just looking to find a husband at college. Around campus they call it "Housewives On Demand".
Tennessee got fried by Sports Illustrated some years back for offering classes in "Walking" to the football and basketball teams.

All of them, because every school offers a career development course, which your grade pretty much is how well your attendance is in that class and how well you build your resume.

Nothing touched Organic Gardening with Dr. James Brown back in the early 2000's. RIP Organic Gardening.

By fake classes I mean no attendance and no work.
I get every school has ridiculous classes but you at least have to show up or turn stuff in. At UNC the classes didn't meet and there wasn't any work required.

My favorite comment ever on this subject:
quote:
From the SI Vault, October 17, 1966: When a writer tried to tease him about his classes at Alabama, asking if he majored in basket-weaving, Joe Namath said, "Naw, man, journalism - it was easier."

I would imagine that quite a bit of effort goes into making sure an athlete is "academically" eligible.
All the schools have tutors and I'm sure some courses or professors are favored by the academic counselors.
I was not an athlete, but I actively avoided some professors. I assume the student body still talks about the courses and professors. They would be stupid to sign up for an unreasonable professor.

I never know how to respond to stuff like this. On one hand, I have zero doubt Franklin would have been down for fake classes. On the other hand, I seriously doubt Vandy admin would have, and there's no way Franklin had the power to pull off something like this without the admins.
