and why is it Tennessee?

LSU fans that want to say Ole Miss, can you make a strong argument for former glory? Would 3 fabricated national championships put the Rebel Sharks in the conversation?

Personally, I think the Vols run away with this

Arkansas never had glory. They had one great season in 1964.

Ole Miss and Tennessee had runs of a decade or longer of being near or at the top.

Neither will likely ever return to that level again

As soon as Saban retires, Alabama will probably fall back into irrelevancy just like they had been in for their entire history prior to Saban.

It all depends on what the standard is but Arkansas was a top 5 team of the 60s and top 10 team of the 70s. One great season is dumb remark though unless you only think a great season is a National Championship.

We've also won the SEC West only one less time than LSU since the initial expansion. If "former glory" is being part of the time the SEC had 1, 2, and 3 in the nation and a BCS bowl as recently as 2010, it really hasn't been that long comparatively against programs like, say, Tennessee.

You troll Alter. Iknowdis.
But
Imo
When Saban retires that will end the Alabama dominance. I think they will definitely be playoff contenders every year and recruit well but I think the almost guaranteed #1 recruiting classes and regular season maulings will trickle out. Overall parity in the conference.

I'd be real good with that but I don't think it's reasonable to expect to be playoff contenders every year.

Tennessee = Nebraska but with less historical success

Maybe Minnesota would be a better comparison

That's what I said, troll. Alabama has historically been nothing but an afterthought in the history of college football.

Saban is the only coach to ever make Alabama a household name. When their little midget savior moves along, there goes their relevancy.

After that, they will sink back down to Vandy level, where they always were before Saban arrived.

Bammers suck!

Bryant cheated by having a big roster and he also drank alcohol. Also, he never even really won a NC, only claimed them and his teams couldn't even win a NC today.

Alabama was nothing when Bryant was at the helm.

Stallings cheated too, that is why he was fired and is now known as a cheater.

When Alabama was so-called dominating in the 20's, they were wearing freaking leather helmets and it was all white racist teams. shite's crazy.
