Sporting News broke down the 10 schools that produced the most NFL Draft picks since 2010. If two schools have the same number, the tiebreaker goes to the school with more first-round picks. This is where you go to find NFL talent:

quote:

10. USC

Draft picks: 49

First-round picks: 7

Notable: USC was strong in the early part of the decade with 16 picks coming between the 2010 and 2011 drafts. The 2018 NFL Draft produced the highest pick of the decade in Sam Darnold at No. 3. The Trojans had four NFL Draft picks in 2019.

quote:

9. Miami

Draft picks: 52

First-round picks: 4

Notable: Miami did not have a large number of first-round picks this decade, but the Hurricanes still produced a steady flow of NFL talent that included nine picks the last two seasons. Ereck Flowers (2011), Phillip Dorsett (2011), Artie Burns (2016) and David Njoku (2017) were the first-round picks. First-year coach Manny Diaz must build on that in the new decade.

quote:

8. Georgia

Draft picks: 52

First-round picks: 9

Notable: Georgia is a consistent producer. The Bulldogs put five or more players in seven of the last 10 drafts, and that number has increased with each year under Kirby Smart. Georgia has 13 picks in the last two drafts, including 2019 first-round pick Deandre Baker.

quote:

7. Clemson

Draft picks: 53

First-round picks: 10

Notable: The Tigers continue to turn out elite talent under Dabo Swinney, and that has amplfied with the two national championships in the last three seasons. Clemson has five first-round picks in that stretch, including Deshaun Watson, Mike Williams, Clelin Ferrell, Christian Wilkins and Dexter Lawrence.

quote:

6. Florida State

Draft picks: 53

First-round picks: 11

Notable: The Seminoles had just two draft picks in 2019, including first-rounder Brian Burns. The number is down from the large classes during the Jimbo Fisher heyday, which included 11 draft picks in 2013 and 2015.

quote:

5. Oklahoma

Draft picks: 55

First-round picks: 8

Notable: The Sooners closed the decade with eight more players going to the NFL. Oklahoma has produced the last two No. 1 picks in Kyler Murray and Baker Mayfield, and the Sooners have produced 12 draft picks in the last two years.

quote:

4. LSU

Draft picks: 60

First-round picks: 10

Notable: The Tigers had just three picks in the 2019 NFL Draft; led by No. 5 pick Devin White. He joins Patrick Peterson (2011) and Leonard Fournette (2017) as the Tigers' top-five picks this decade. Ed Orgeron should continue to produce good classes in the next decade.

quote:

3. Florida

Draft picks: 60

First-round picks: 12

Notable: The Gators have put together five straight drafts with at least five draft picks, and Jawaan Taylor was the highest pick this year at No. 35. That broke a streak of six straight years with a first-round pick.

quote:

2. Ohio State

Draft picks: 62

First-round picks: 15

Notable: Ohio State finished with nine picks in 2019, one spot behind Alabama. Nick Bosa and Dwayne Haskins were at the head of that as top-15 picks. Urban Meyer enhanced what Jim Tressel had rolling in Columbus, and now it's on Ryan Day to keep the NFL pipeline open.

quote:

1. Alabama

Draft Picks: 83

First-round picks: 28

Notable: The beat goes on under Nick Saban. The Crimson Tide had 10 draft picks in 2019 and have had the most picks each of the last two seasons. Quinnen Williams, Jonah Williams and Josh Jacobs were the latest first-round picks. Saban will have a tough act to follow in the next decade, but 2020 will be a good start given the class coming back.

Is this post in honor of the D Day 75th anniversary? When the Germans invaded the beaches of Norway during WW1.

The thing that really jumps out at me is the nearly 2:1 (15-28) difference in 1st round draft choices over the 2nd highest team. That's a helluva testament to their player development system.

Thanks for the post.

It seems most of the top 10 have had some good success (Bama is unreal). Miami and USC appear to have underachieved.

No other team has ever won 5 national titles in 10 years, or at least not since the Ivy League dominated rugby type football in the 19th Century.

No team can win every game. Speaking of which, take a guess at what team has lost the most Super Bowls (actually a tie for #1).

The real question here is, how does Alabama ever lose a game?

This is such an ignorant thing to say considering that Alabama has been on an unprecedented run the last 10 years. Hell the Miami 2003 team had six first round draft picks on it and lost two games, one of them at home to #18 Tennessee

My glass is raised to each.
Data such as these are emblematic of a program's success.
Well done.

I'm going to say something that's probably unpopular amongst LSU folks ... but your former AD, Joe Alleva, did you right in football.
Your new general will undoubtedly do the same.
