Next year is the set up, 2025 is the money year, at least with what we have.

LSU will continue to contend for mid-tier bowl games the next two seasons. Beyond that? It depends on who they hire.

I see a minimum of 3 losses next year, maybe 4 depending on how Elko does. And that's assuming LSU can outscore USC.

- JD5 is the best, but we will contend for the playoffs without him.

LSU over their history are a proven 3 loss team. Their coach is a proven 3 loss coach. So history tells us they will be a mid level team who will have a really great year with the right players every now and then.
The new teams and how scheduling plays out will have something to say about their won loss record in the SEC.

Obviously this a huge oversimplification but you seem like a simple mind so:
If the offense drops from 1st to say 15th and the defense improves from 110th or whatever it is to say 65th, that’s very likely a net plus and gets us to say 10-2 and likely the playoff.
