When Saban retires will LSU, UF, UGA and maybe Auburn be back to beating Bama?

He can't have too many more years left and I am not sure that his replacement will be able to recruit at the same level as schools like LSU with the entire state being fans. Just curious.

this. But Saban's already the best and LSU has beaten him and Bama a few times already so I don't see why LSU couldn't get back to beating them

I often wonder about this line of thinking from rival fans. But now our own fanbase? The time period from 2000-2006 is about the same amount of years as Alabama's current era under Nick Saban. How does the Dubose/Fran/Shula era still convince people Alabama is going back into some "hole"? Did the decades of winning prior to 2000 never happen?

It will depend on who Bama hires. No matter what, they will not be as dominate, but I definitely do not expect Bama to become mediocre or anything. All 4 of the schools mentioned will likely beat Bama more than they do now (which isn't really saying much), but the next Bama coach will determine how much they fall, if at all

Well, LSU already beats bama so I am guessing we will own y'all once the best coach in the nation leaves. Y'all may get another stud coach but I doubt he will be anywhere close to Saban.

Just like with Saban, it depends on the hire, but I see good potential for another big hire. Saban has made Bama into a destination job (no, it wasn't before) so I'd expect some big names to throw their hats into the ring.

Saban is currently 6-5 against AU. To say that AU will not beat bama after he retires is to say that bama's next coach will be better than Saban. Is this what you are saying?

Considering LSU beats bama and saban now, I can see it only getting better for LSU once saban is gone.

It was a destination job for the right type coach.

If Smart takes over, you should be fine. I mean, probably not as dominant, but he can recruit and can coach. Does more than people realize and what he doesn't do, he is watching Saban doing and learning.

If you lose Smart, you are fricked. Michigan post Lloyd Car fricked because you will probably do what they did and hire a hot name not a solid coach

Wonder if the next coach will finally be able to get Alabama over .500 against UF in Atlanta

Yes, but we will have all these good times to look back on, that happened in our lifetime, and thats something to be thankful for. RMFT. I still cant believe we went 3 of 4 this day and age.
