When did the hate within the SEC start?

Most fans in the SEC still cheer for the SEC in ooc games, but it is not like it used to be. I remember in 2007 being at a party cheering for Florida in the ncg. The same thing in 2008 with LSU. In 2009 me and friends were at BWWs and the whole damn place was going for Florida. I will honestly say I was torn in 2011 because I didn't want the streak to end, but surely didn't want Auburn to win. I love the SEC and I cheer for the SEC in every sport. Frick the B1G, ACC, Pac 12 and the Big...whatever number they are now. SEC, bitches!

Cheering for other SEC teams always had a selfish motivation. Other teams in the conference look good and it makes your team look good. We've been clearly on top for awhile now so the motivation went away.
It'll come back since the SEC is on tDecline right now though

I always root against the sec. Bama winning the national championship or other large bowls does nothing to help LSU. LSU winning helps LSU.

When I served in the Air Force in the 90s I saw SEC united OOC. When I moved to Atlanta in 2000 it was the first time I saw SEC fans root against other SEC teams OOC. I thought it was just a Georgia thing but this thread suggests otherwise.

I have never always rooted for the SEC. It depends on the situation. Whatever is good for the Gators. If it makes us look good, it is isn't GAg, or TN, if it helps our SOS, than yes.

My hate:
Grew up in Tennessee in the 80s and 90s so Florida hate came standard.
Attended Ole Miss and attended one game at Death Valley with those savages. My hate of LSU was etched in stone.
Georgia is probably the only school I cannot really explain why I hate them. Little bit the thuggishness, little bit the the arrogance. I dunno really.
Bama I hate mostly because they have been so good but I honestly prefer they at least be decent because they play a good villain.
Aggy I don't really "hate." I, like most, just find their loudmouth Texan bs annoying.
But they are all our own so only we in the SEC are allowed to insult them. Even the Aggies.
