Have you ever been to the state?

Most of the population in the state resides in the "golden triangle"

Lexington = UK
Louisville = UK, UL, IU
Cincinnati = UK, tOSU, UC, X

Columbia is between 2 MSA's (Saint Louis and Kansas City)
Lexington is it's own MSA and the University of Kentucky is located in that specific MSA

Eastern KY, where the actual "hill country" sits, is a small minority of the entire state population (10% to 20%)

So yes, UK is a collection of city states (LEX, LOU, CIN) when it comes to the population of the state. How much of MO lives in either the STL or KC MSA? I am guessing the combination of the 2 is a very high number.

Have I ever been to the state? Are you serious?

Considering I grew up just across the river from Kentucky, the answer is yes. In fact, I've been all over the state. Even been to the Kentucky derby.

And I can tell you that regardless what statistical information you post in this thread...the state of Kentucky most definitely has hills and hill folk.

Yeah like growing up in Hamilton County or Floyd County makes you an expert on the state!

Not saying they do not, but not admitting they are a minority, and not admitting the lack of hill country in Central KY means you must not have spent much time in the area.

Look I have been through MO and stayed with family in STL and KC, but that does not mean I know the state of MO like my cousins do.

I think you fail to realize that I've traveled all over Kentucky...all over - key words. I've spent considerable time in the state as well as driving thru the state.

Am I a Kentucky expert? No. I mean, why would I want to be?

Have I seen a large swath of Kentucky several times over? Yes.

But I'm glad you're so defensive of your state. You sound like a Missourian.

Where?

ps. I grew up in AR, KY, GA, NC, and FL which is why I would be defensive of SEC states in general but thanks for playing.

Oh, so that's why you're a "fan of all SEC schools"!

You grew up in four SEC states. Makes sense.

Also have family in MD, VA, LA, TN, AL, MS, SC, and MO. If a drunk driver had not killed my sweetheart I would probably be living in TX right now instead of just visiting now and again. It is why I am a fan of the SEC even tho I did not graduate from a SEC school. SEC is in my DNA.

My family was in the sports world. It was like being in the military or the gypsies. Florida State was funded with circus $$$$ so I like the carnival life.
