Wait, so you're touting McCaffrey as your evidence? You really should quit, now.

Never brought him up once in this thread

He only got touches twice this season. You do realize that don't you?

nearly any RB in the SEC could run for the same amount of yards with 90+ carries behind that O line in the last two games of the season

And here is why your arguments fail: they're based on assumptions.

Whether you want him to or not, barring injury, Derrick Henry is going to become the first 2,000-yard rusher in SEC history, and he is probably going to win the Heisman Trophy.

Keep melting.

The last drives of the LSU and Auburn games, when everyone on the other side knew he was going to get it every snap? Pretty damn impressive. You may know that QB is likely to throw it, but you don't know which receiver. In the LSU and Auburn games, on those last drives, 100,000 people knew he was getting the ball, and there wasn't a damn thing anyone could do about it.

There's certainly a value to having a back like Henry, who is not only talented, but can handle a heavy load, but I'm not sure he should win the Heisman just because he ran the ball a lot more often than other backs did.

It's not a melt when various sports analysts have been frequently putting him 3rd behind Watson and McCaffery. (That is from CBS Sports).

Take your houndstooth glasses off and think for a second.

Not everyone thinks his season is one of the greatest ever. Anyone could run it that many times to get that many yards behind that O line. Quit crying about it. He's not even on your team

More credit should be given to the O-line in that regard. Henry didn't open those holes

This Bama OL might be the weakest one Saban has had at Bama.

BIG 12 is pathetic as far as NFL talent.

132 players currently in the NFL for the BIG 12. The BIG six in the SEC has more than that. 309 total for the SEC.

The numbers are more pathetic if you look at defense only. That's why running for 2000 yards in the SEC is much more impressive than throwing for 500 yards every game in the BIG 12.

Has any RB ever had a good season before? Ever? You're just not going to give Henry any credit at all, are you?

oh good lord.

CFB runningbacks to eclipse 2000 rushing yards in a single season since 2000
2014 - Melvin Gordon, 343 carries
2014 - Tevin Coleman, 270 carries (OKtiger's GOAT, for sure)
2013 - Andre Williams, 355 carries
2008 - Donald Brown, 367 carries
2007 - Kevin Smith, 450 carries (overrated, IMO)
2007 - Matt Forte, 361 carries
2008 - Ray Rice, 380 carries
2004 - JJ Arrington, 289 carries (co-GOAT)
2002 - Larry Johnson, 271 carries (co-GOAT)
2000 - Damien Anderson, 363 carries
2000 - LaDanian Tomlinson, 369 carries (sucks, IMO)

You moron.

I guess he thinks Henry has had more carries in a single season than any RB in CFB History and never bothers to even check stats. He's a special kind of special.

I'm sure Bama fans agree to some extent that passing for 500 yards is not THAT impressive when you throw it close 70+ times.

How is it any more impressive to run the ball 200 yards on 45+ carries?

Henry surpassed Walker's seasons total yardage record in a full games worth less attempts (around 40 carries less iirc). That's impressive.

Well considering that if LF7 had Henrys carries he'd be hanging around 2,150 yards at this point..

Is it really that impressive? 5.8 ypc says.. not really
