Based simply on expectations, if the money is equal then Arkansas is the more desirable job. There are only a handful of coaches in the game that wouldn’t be fired from Florida within 4 years. And the established coaches who could handle it already have superior jobs.

If coaches weren't such egomanics why would they ever leave? Why would petrino ever leave louisville? They're psychos that think they want more power than they can actually control. There's a reason nick sabans aren't falling off of trees.

Arkansas is the type of job where you go 6-6 and get an extension.

Florida is the type of job where you lose four games and your seat is already hot.

Arkansas will give you a fair chance to succeed. Florida will give you money and expect a miracle. They have been firing coaches at 3 years max forever now.

Inquiring minds want to know.

I've not heard any Florida booster mention that Drinkwitz is a target. The average fan on the forums certainly don't seem to want him. Yet ESPN articles keep mentioning him as an option. This is Jimmy Sexton doing his usual thing. I don't know how he always gets away with it.

The 6-6 thing is a recent thing. Not the long ago, 6-6 was fireable at Arkansas.

It was when Arkansas was in better shape. It was considered a down year and 8-4 was the average.

6-6 didn't get a coach fired. What got them fired was staying at Arkansas for a particular amount of time and hit a ceiling. The program is no longer showing improvement and if you're not getting any better then you go the opposite direction, things get worse.

Bert is a good example.

Florida is in a better recruiting spot but is culturally and institutionally a mess and requires a years long rebuild from the ground up. Arkansas meanwhile has the lower ceiling but it’s the safer bet because you might last long enough to see the end of the rebuild.
