Totally depends on whether you win the SECCG
winning division + winning SECCG is obviously way better
winning division + losing in SECCG < not winning division and playing in BCS game

Everyone in this thread will say whatever is convienent for them. Some of them will even say a division crown is better some years(years there team won) and a BCS bowl was more prestigious in other years(years there team went to a BCS bowl. I didn't read the thread but someone let me know how close i am with this prediction.

I know for sure I would rather be in Arkansas' situation over USCe's this past year

I'd take Arkansas' place over South Carolina, though.

Hey now, we're 2-0 against the Buckeyes.

No one, but the fanbase, is going to really remember just winning the division ten years from now. Especially if it doesn't result in a conference title. However, BCS bowls judge the quality of a program over the long haul.

I agree.

Playing in Atlanta for an SEC title is waaayyyy better than playing in a BCS game IMO. Bama fans didn't give a frick about playing Utah just like UF fans could care less about playing Cincinnati. Short of playing in a national title, Atlanta is as good as it gets.

I think of LSU's 2006 season as being better than our 2005 season FWIW

Sounds like you're an English teacher boohooing that a common slang bastardization of the term isn't technically accurate.

I'm not sure if that is strong messsage board material.

Most people could care less.

To be fair, Cinci didn't care about that game much either...

The difference is those teams lost out on opportunities to play for the national title. I don't think Georgia would trade their 2007 season for ours.

state won the west in 98. sc won the east in 2010. arky won their division but I don't remember when (nor do I care)
at large BCS bid almost gurantees that you have a top 10 team. winning a week arse division with 4, 5 loss is meaningless. of course, if you upset a top team in ATL (LSU 2001) then it means something.

You should probably mention our 2007 squad in that list. LSU's 2001 squad would be on there two if we didn't screw that up.

Winning the division crown with a chance to play for conf champion and you earn your way to the BCS bowl. By the way what does it matter to get an at large and then lose anyway?....

SEC titles are huge. 2001 was the start of LSU's run.

Not that this will answer the original question, but maybe it does...

SEC Championship (besides personally valuing UGA and Bama games) is the biggest game in college football, if you were to ask me.

However, that's easier to say within the past 6 years.
