What year did you REALLY start following your team?

Not just claiming to be a fan, but actually watching almost every game, learning the players, etc.

I've been a Bama fan since I can remember, but I didn't start following every game, learning the players and what not until I was 11 which was probably due to the 1992 NC season.

ETA: Since then I've watched just about every game. I turned a few off in the early 2000's though.

1983...when I went to my first game and saw Reggie White in action...that did it for me.

As soon as I was old enough really, I guess somewhere around 10-11 which would have been 2 or 3 years before the 92 championship.

1998 for bama... when they made me part of the team. grew up a gator and probably 1990 for that, my math teacher's daughter ended up marrying shane matthews, and he came in for show and tell once and that sold me on following college football.

Yeah, I don't think kids have the desire or attention span to really follow the game til around 9-11.

I've always been a Bama fan, but I got much more serious about it in '92 when I was about 14.

69/70, somewhere in there. Just moved to BR and my Grandfather worked security from EBR Sheriff's office in the stadium, so got to run around in the 'bowels' a lot. Kids can't really do that anymore but back then you could.

About 1999 or 1998, at 10 years old. Had obviously been watching and attending games before that, but that's when I started to take football pretty seriously.

The segment of my life in which I cared most about Bama, they absolutely sucked. Oh well.

not true, i think it depends on how much your parents are into it. i remember going to the rose bowl every week to watch UCLA even when i was like 6/7 and those games mattered to me.
