I think JDB is a solid coach and even if he isn't he does have the skill players to make him look like he is. Blake Baker and Golding are not in the same stratosphere at all. The only area Golding has been more successful is against a mobile QB. I'm going off eye test don't know the stats but Baker is still new we got plenty time to put the right guys in place.

Agreed.

ManBearSharkReb is on record as saying all of their staff hires were actually upgrades though.

Although, at that point, he thought Kevin Smith was staying. I'm sure he believes Frank is an upgrade too though.

Golding was really who they wanted the whole time. They duped LSU and let them have Lane.

Franks a bag man everyone knows that. As far as just coaching backs Smith 100 of 100 times. We got the best bag man in the game back home they can have Frank we had no room for him.

I've heard that Sumrall was their first choice to replace Lane, Sumrall wanted the job, and that Pete would've likely stayed on as DC, had that happened. Judge likely stays as well.

Carter found a way to screw that up but Ole Miss fans still love him for some reason.

I think you had to stay with Golding for morale/continuity for playoff run. The players like him and it was their best chance at a natty and you get someone to hang if it doesn't work out. Kiffin will still be the villain of the story and Carter is the AD with his hands tied. On their staff I think Joe Judge is the best head coach and i think he stayed because he thinks that's his best chance at another shot.

I think Frank offers some value as a recruiter, his on field coaching success is all a decade or more old at this point.

If I'm picking between the two, O is far away more valuable than Frank just because O is far more known on a national level.

I agree. O is pretty underrated because he's a personal liability/disaster. The mans been a part of like 5 natty staffs that's not nothing. Who knows what would've happened here if not for the Trump interview question and Ryan Clarke causing a god damn mass mutiny in the locker room. We also are finding out he didn't have control of the staff and the Woodward political vendettas we all might've said frick it i won a natty it's party time. I think Woodward deserves more blame than O for the program being in shambles.

I think Pete would be more accepted honestly. Ole Miss fans see themselves as aristocrats and Golding sounds like royalty, after all.

Match made in heaven.

Their offensive staff is honestly pretty underwhelming, on paper (which doesn't mean anything).

OC is JDB. Seems solid, was with Kiffin from 2021-23 as TE coach/PGC. Left to become the OC at ECU so he only has 2 years of playcalling experience.

Judge is the QB coach and "head coach of offense" - Only has about 3 years of QB coaching/offensive experience. Has been a career special teams guy.

Running back coach is Frank obviously. Seems like kind of a has been now.

Both receivers coaches are journeymen who have never really produced anything of note and are relatively inexperienced. Both have about 4 years of coaching the position, give or take.

The tight end coach/co-OC was with Mario Cristobal from 2017 until 2025,
just started coaching tight ends in 2023 and was "processed", according to Miami fans.

OL coach is Garrison, same as last year. Don't know much about him, seems solid. Has a good bit of experience, probably the most experienced offensive coach.

Probably doesn't matter as Trinidad and Lacey are absolute freaks.

This game will define the Pete Golding era of Ole Miss as an institution. Long live the king.
