Do you think OU’s offense is better than Ole Miss’s offense? I would say most of us here would say they are basically the same here, but I feel you guys think Ole Miss is an easy win for an OU, what is your opinion?

It's wild how perfect a roster (and QB) he was handed by Sherman to do what he (and Kliff) wanted to do. Once he was actually running the program, developing players and signing players......that all fell apart.

In general? Yea, Oklahoma's offense is better. They have better players 1-11 and run the football better than Ole Miss did last year.

A&M truly hit a hurricane of perfect things to succeed in 2012
- elite offensive line play
- elite wide receiver play
- a scheme that SEC teams were not schematically or physically ready for run by an elite offensive coach
- a QB built to run that scheme
- a good enough defense
1000% percent agree. Outgoing coach had an eye for talent (especially on the OL) and developed it. Incoming coach had a great OC. That OC had Johnny, Evans, Swope. The DC could plug and play upperclassmen after upperclassmen, and threw in a couple skilled freshman in the secondary.
If that defense played against the offenses of today's SEC, they would not have played near as well.

We’ll be fine. Y’all pretend like it’s A&M & Mizzou joining the league. Our defensive line is huge, fast, and deep. Our offensive line depth could be better, but we have a lot of big talented bodies.

A&M's success is 2011 is mpst directly attributable to Mike Sherman's ability to spot talent. That team was loaded with 3-star recruits nobody had ever heard of, many of whom are still starters in the NFL today. It didn't show in the recruiting rankings but that roster was as full of NFL talent as any in the game.
Too bad Sherman was such a terrible, stubborn dinosaur of a coach on gamedays. His eye for talent was absolutely unmatched.

Linemen.
They’ve got the skill position players to compete, but do they have an OL and DL?

Look - a lot of "SEC is best" stuff can be a bit of an overstatement. But "SEC Defensive Lines" is not one of them. Your current DL would not rank in the top half of the league.

that defense REGULARLY misses tackles. The talent is there while the execution is lacking.

You just keep telling yourself that as you whistle past the graveyard. "It's ok, we're ok, we're gonna be fine...".
Lolololol, we'll talk at the 6 week mark.

How many punts did the SEC Championship Game have last year?
Watched Florida and Alabama score 50 points on each other
Really believe the SEC in 2021 is the same as it was in 2011

It's going to be so funny when Texas fans talk all of this shite to Alabama and LSU only to get blindsided by Ole Miss and Kentucky in back to back weeks. Everyone on the rant is going to be rooting for whoever is playing Texas that week. Going to be a blast.

Football is Football. We recruit as well as anybody in the SEC not named Bama. We will be fine. Our poor offensive line recruiting would be an issue in any conference.

How many elite offensive players were there in that game? You think that was just some normal "oh hey look throw it around and you'll score a bunch" game?
1R, #4 - Kyle Pitts (TE) (FLA)
1R, #10 - DeVonta Smith (WR) (BAMA)
1R, #15 - Mac Jones (QB) (BAMA)
1R, #17 - Alex Leatherwood (OL) (BAMA)
1R, #20 - Kadarius Toney (WR) (FLA)
1R, #24 - Najee Harris (RB) (BAMA)
2R, #37 - Landon Dickerson (OL) (BAMA)
2R, #64 - Kyle Trask (QB) (FLA)
25% of the first 24 picks in the NFL drafts were offensive players from that game
The SEC isn't the same as 2011 but if you can't block up front or get off blocks up front then none of that other shite is gonna matter.
