If it wasn't thàt, it was having rings made for some other non-accomplishment. Or something similarly gay.
Maybe it was some other C-List SEC program.

We have a sec east banner champ outright you can make fun of
But never a co-champ.
Ole Miss did the co west champion banner

Cherish the lone emblem you have. Maybe you could wave it in rhythm to the gay club anthem that permeates your stadium on game day.
Well... On second thought, it's been 15 years. It's probably threadbare at this point.
How was that?

I respect the effort, but you’re not saying anything worse than the shite I’ve said for many years
Also I’ll have you know we also have an ACC championship banner. So take that

To clarify, I never said anyone SHOULD claim anything. It's more of a comparison from the much cleaner divisions where, even a tie, meant we were assured a head-to-head match up.
The new system brought us a 4-way tie with only two head-to-head matches. Georgia over Ole Miss is easy, as they beat them in the regular season, but Georgia over A&M was pretty much due to a scheduling quirk. That's a weird way to end a season, IMHO.
I agree, I think we'll end up back in the old system with co-champs and get rid of the game if the CFP doesn't change.

Just like basketball and baseball.

I haven't seen any fans from any of those universities making that claim, so I'm seriously doubting it's an issue. Seems more like a rhetorical question the OP asked for attention because everyone already knows the answer. If anyone is making the claim, they likely are just doing it to get a reaction out of the Georgia fan base.
Oh, look.
Someone with a functioning brain chimed in.
Zero Alabama fans are making this claim.
None.

See 2003 SEC West Champions for context.

This doesn't exist in football.

Hey, if aggy can claim a conference championship when two other teams (neither of them aggy) played in that game (2010 iirc) then I guess someone can claim "regular season SEC champs" if they want, lolz

I thought the winner of the SECCG was the SEC champions and that is the only SEC championship

We no longer have divisions, and the tiebreakers can involve situations where the teams tied never played each other (as stated before, of the 4 teams involved, the only head-to-head regular season game was Alabama vs Georgia and Georgia vs Ole Miss.) So should Ole Miss claim something? If the argument is that they already lost to Georgia, then the question is why did Georgia get to be in the SECCG if they already lost to Alabama. At that point it seems like A&M should have played Alabama, if that's the argument.
Hince why this 1 div. play anybody format causes more problems than it fixes.

Someone actually said "regular season champion" for football.
That's stupid. This isn't basketball.

Get any larger and the SEC is going to have to have a tournament including the top 4 teams to determine the championship.
Not exactly. I, personally, think pods or divisions are going to come back into play fixing all these issues.

there is no such thing as "SEC Regular Season Champion"
There are in baseball and basketball.
Texas was the 2024-2025 baseball regular season champion, and Vandy was the tournament champion.
LSU leads the conference with 18 baseball regular season titles. LSU also leads the conference with 12 baseball tournament titles.
