Our longest unbeaten streak was against Kentucky. It was 31 games. Until UK beat us in '97, their last win in the series was in 1922.

I am a member of Volnation but I havezero pull. I rarely post there I just read. A little conservative for my taste. I have been on this board for half a day and I think its my favorite already

Alabama-Mississippi State has to have a streak that beats that. The record in that series is just insane.

I was looking through the records... we sucked in the 50's pretty bad, but I didn't realize we tied Vandy 3 years in a row, 57,58 and 59... that's kind of an amazing stat.

I am curious the overall record head/head vs UK in basketball...

Get back to me.

And with Kiffin on the sidelines, the streak ends soon.

Ah, Kentucky fans and their favorite football debate tactic: "Oh yeah?! Well...BASKETBALL!"

If you couldn't beat us last year, I wonder if you ever will. That was the worst Tennessee team to come down the pike in 30 years.

Earlier this year on a UK message board I read a poster's suggestion that either a statute should be erected of Rich Brooks or the field should be renamed in his honor for the success he has brought to the program. I thought it was a joke at first, but I don't believe it was. It actually had some support from other posters.

Good grief, it took UT until this year to erect a statue of General Neyland.

I think a statue would be pushing it, but Rich Brooks is a good coach who has done alot for Kentucky. He is now with Bear Bryant as the only coach to lead Kentucky to 3 consecutive bowl appearances, and he has distinguished himself from Bryant by winning all 3 of those appearances. At a school where football is a distant second priority, that's still impressive. I have alot of respect for him.

South Carolina has a 9 win streak over Kentucky. I know it doesn't hold a candle towards the other streaks against Kentucky ( ) just thought I'd share.

I think it is more to remove the name of an AD who was a basketball guy who hired Bill Curry and Hal Mumme as head football coaches...trust me, you would want to remove his name from the stadium as well.

And by the way, the same site where the majority of your fan base likes to camp out because Volnation is lame?

I'm on my phone, so I hope this text isn't all jumbled. Mike, I'm not sure what board you're talking about, but the one I was referring to is Wildcat Nation. That board's pretty dead, so I assume it's not the same one. I don't frequent UK boards so I'm not hip to the scene. Yes, VolNation sucks. With the large membership base, it had the potential to be a great place, but it's not. That's why I'm here at this board, and you'll probably see more and more UT fans at this place. If I had the time and resources, I'd create my own no-holds-barred UT board (complete with"Kiff 4 Eva" (for the homers) and "Hold Me, LuLu" (for the negavols) subforums), but oh well.

If not for an official's call that allowed the Miss St RB to ROLL into the endzone from the 3 yrd line late in the game to beat LSU 17-16 in 1999, LSU's streak over MSU would be 17 and counting.
