re: Tennessee launches Eric Berry for Heisman campaign

Better question how did it feel losing to Wyoming
I love how UK fans always bring up Wyoming when Fulmer's Last Stand at the Rose Bowl is a better insult. It hurts when you're bitchslapped by reality.
And actually, the best insult of all would be to actually beat the team you are insulting. But that's neither here nor there.

Yeah yall may have but you still lost 2 times to a crappy Kentucky Basketball team last year with a crappy coach
I tried to care about basketball a few years ago. I really did. I even have a "Bruce Almighty" t-shirt. But I just can't do it. I honestly do not care about basketball.
I do, however, want to bear Eric Berry's children.

That's cause it's Tennessee's fault
BS. ESPN dims the lights and goes into breaking news mode anytime UT does anything lately. You would think that something like this would be for them what Shark Week is for the Discovery Channel.
That being said, as long as Eric Berry wasn't involved, I honestly don't care what happened.

Are there any Vandy fans on here? Or should I say is there a Vandy FAN on here?
I'm a Vandy fan (as long as they aren't playing UT). My family is very split between Vandy and UT. I've lived in Nashville my entire life, and we had Vandy season tickets.
It was nice to get the bowl last year, just a shame they couldn't even leave the city.

I'm on my phone, so I hope this text isn't all jumbled.
Mike, I'm not sure what board you're talking about, but the one I was referring to is Wildcat Nation. That board's pretty dead, so I assume it's not the same one. I don't frequent UK boards so I'm not hip to the scene.
Yes, VolNation sucks. With the large membership base, it had the potential to be a great place, but it's not. That's why I'm here at this board, and you'll probably see more and more UT fans at this place. If I had the time and resources, I'd create my own no-holds-barred UT board (complete with"Kiff 4 Eva" (for the homers) and "Hold Me, LuLu" (for the negavols) subforums), but oh well.

Ah, Kentucky fans and their favorite football debate tactic: "Oh yeah?! Well...BASKETBALL!"
Earlier this year on a UK message board I read a poster's suggestion that either a statute should be erected of Rich Brooks or the field should be renamed in his honor for the success he has brought to the program. I thought it was a joke at first, but I don't believe it was. It actually had some support from other posters.
Good grief, it took UT until this year to erect a statue of General Neyland.

We’ve used FACEBOOKS's new version of its Lexicon tool to find the states where you'll have the best chance of bumping into a fellow football fan. Here's the list, ranked by the percentage of POSTS concerning “football” in a state over a given period of time.
I said this in the OT it is based on how many people post about football on facebook not exactly a legitimate source..
Is it possible that some people have a signature containing the word "football" which is skewing the results for some states?
All of you are getting too worked up about a poll. Especially you LSU fans. It's a poll based off false pretenses. Chill.
re: Lane Kiffin= decreased season ticket renewals?
Posted by Miz Smokey on 5/20/09 at 1:17 pm
There's a reduction, but it's not a huge one. Vol Navy has a point about the seat reductions. They removed some of the seats to create the ridiculously overpriced "Tennessee Terrace," which can be yours for a seasonal $10,000 donation (or some insane number like that) per seat.
I also don't think the University won over anyone with the marketing campaign either. The letters they mailed out informing the ticket holders that their section would be converted and giving them the option to "buy in" was mailed out at the beginning of the season. Most people received that letter in the days following the UCLA game.

UT sold 72,855 season-ticket renewals by the May 1 deadline in 2008. This year, 70,785 season tickets were renewed by May 1, a drop of 2,070 tickets.

Hey its better than tennis and golf.
Plus we are hosting the NCAAs next month, which is kinda fun to watch if you've never been.
And it makes things more interesting when the Olympics come around.
Tyson Gay is one heck of an athlete. It was a shame to see him not do so well in the 100 m at the Olympics. That hamstring had to still be bothering him. However, the entire US Track team was a disgrace in Beijing. Maybe next time they'll actually practice the relays as a team before race time (no joke).
re: Top 5 most "disappointing" seasons in SEC, last 10 years
Posted by Miz Smokey on 5/15/09 at 2:13 pm
It's probably not top 5, but I'd like to throw in the 2005 Vols in there for consideration.
It's funny how your standards of a "disapointing" season can change in such a short period of time... NC or bust... SEC Championship or bust... bowl game or bust... winning record or bust... oh, frick it, just complete a pass!

Though I do feel most Bama fans on here are relatively objective when it comes to Saban. There just wasn't a lot to complain about last year until the SEC title game (the fake field goal call). Anyway, I HATE stereotyping. But every single UT fan I've ever met, even prior to Kiffin, has been the biggest homer I've ever seen. I know two guys I've tried to have rational, objective football conversations with and it just doesn't take.
Nah, I think you have to put in perspective that the homers (of any team/sport) are going to be the most outspoken on message boards and in real life just because they feel they have something to prove. The rationals typically keep their mouths shut lest they have to deal with taunts of "Negavol! Fulmerite! Negavol!" from the idiots at VolNation.
Am I a Kiffin fan? I don't know. I will say that from a personality aspect at this point in his career, he irritates the Hell out of me.
