Yeah, I guess routinely getting mentioned as the country's greatest mascot and making the cover of Sports Illustrated means no one agrees with me.

Don't get mad, man. Maybe I just haven't kept up with the "greatest mascots" polls as well as I should. I'm just telling you, I doubt that anybody outside of athens gives a damn about your bulldog any more than you care about MSU's cowbells.

I'm not mad, it's just that my intention wasn't to get into a "my traiditon is better than your tradition" thing and it has started heading that way. It was a shitty OP to begin with anyway, I don't even know why I started it.

We should have kept the goat.

Imagine the love shown from idiots here if it were an animal they can relate to and have attraction for?

I had major love for UGA as a tot living a state away.

Getting back on track:

There's no such thing as the "greatest" tradition because they are all so unique and quite frankly don't conflict with eachother. You can like them all, and for the rest of time, on gameday Verne Lundquist will always refer to something being "one of the greatest".

I think everyone believes you're being presumptuous claiming Uga is the greatest mascot in the country. One SI cover and a couple sportswriters claiming as such doesn't mean squat, especially to the SECr.

That wasn't my point. The only tradition I brag about at Alabama is WINNING. Anything else, I don't really care about, just like nobody cares about your bulldog.

That's how I feel about Auburn's trees. No one gives a shite outside of Auburn or even know what they are.

No one outside of Alabama cares about the Bear either.

The Toomer's trees are a tradition FOR Auburn fans. We don't much care how they rate because they're special to us.

That's what no one can wrap their heads around.

Plus, there's at least one person outside of Auburn who gave a shite about the trees...

Yeah, CU's Buff Ralfie is pretty cool too.

Completely useless side note, A&M and CU are the onyl two schools with female mascots. Our collie Reveille and their Buff Ralfie are both females. :themoreyouknowstar:

And if/when people made fun of you for that, did you give a shite? Or when an Uga dies?

People who make fun of fans for caring about their traditions, especially storied ones, are the real losers.

Most know what the trees are or UGA, however they do not have the same affection towards them being a tradition and memorable because they dont celbrate them. As stated on here by others, tradtions are usualy only great for the ones who celebrate them. the one who dont, could care less.

I dont expect you to "care" for the eagle flight, toomer's, or tiger walk. But most who do expierence them, with all competitveness aside apreciate them, when they witness them. Just like I do at LSU with Mike, UT with the Vol Navy, tOSU with the i dot.

I would go ape shite if somebody killed the Century Oak on A&M's campus (the one everybody proposes under) and it's not nearly as prominent as the Oaks at Toomer's Corner

How about top 10 Greatest Traditions? I wonder if the rest of the SEC fans would agree with this statement:

Saturday night in Tiger Stadium is one of College Football's Top Ten Greatest Traditions.

(Sure beats the hell out of dotting the i...)
