I think Tennessee needs to remodel to reduce capacity while replacing these benches with chairbacks.
In 2006, Neyland stadium capacity went from 104,079 to 102,037. The current renovations will drop the capacity to 101,915 for the 2022 season.

Didn’t OM just have to pause their renovations due to lack of funds?
I thought the number being spent was closer to $500M.
Not a knock but OM would be better off tearing down the entire stadium minus the one nice Endzone

Alabama and A&M had the nicest stadiums.
LSU and Auburn had the best environments.
UGA is pretty meh overall. Stadium isn't that great and the crowd isn't that loud.
Tennessee has an awful stadium. Neyland sucks.
Kentucky had a pretty quiet crowd. Stadium was better than expected.
Ole Miss had a pretty disappointing experience overall. Stadium wasn't great and the crowd was quiet.

Reading between the lines... they could pay a premium for materials now and get half of what they planned (thanks Biden) or wait for materials to come down and get more of what they campaigned for. They are still proceeding with the IPF work and other work to the baseball stadium and various facilities.

It's essentially like a stadium from Friday Night Lights.

you should check it out when we play a bigger name opponent. It gets just as loud as any of the others.

It’s just not as great as you think it is. Maybe certain moments of certain games.

I never claimed any level of greatness for it ha. Just like as a UGA fan I may be inclined to elevate it a bit more than others, I can see why a SC fan (the other guy, not you) may try to downplay it as well.
It's not the pinnacle of CFB but to say that it's "meh", the stadium "isn't that great", and the crowd "isn't that loud" are all just casual insults passed off as anecdotal recollections. There are nicer stadiums, and there are stadiums that are more routinely loud but very few that would match the volume at our loudest. Same can be said for most big time football stadiums. But to say it's "meh" is simply not true.

When I think of shitty stadiums/experiences, even the "bad" SEC venues are fantastic.
Go to a Georgia Tech game when they aren't playing UGA and you won't talk shite about MSU.
Go to an Arizona game when they aren't playing ASU and you won't talk shite about Vanderbilt.
Go to pretty much any Maryland game and and you won't talk shite about Mizzou.
Go to a Texas Tech game vs. a non-Texas team and you won't talk shite about Kentucky (but full admission, I kind of like the tortillas thrown on the field thing).
This post just made me realize the only college football games I've ever been to that didn't involve an SEC team were a handful of Memphis games at the Liberty Bowl.

Anyone who complains about the seating in Neyland is telling on themselves for being out of shape.
You can bet the mortgage none of them have a BMI under 30 and that’s still pretty chunky.
I haven’t been to a stadium with bleacher seats that are comfortable to sit in. And I’ve been to plenty that have chair backs and weren’t much better than Neyland in terms of space. New Braves stadium comes to mind.
As long as everyone is in their seat and no extra crammed in, the space between your knees and the next row is the bigger problem if you’re tall or someone is seated too far back.

I have never visited a bleacher stadium at any level of any sport with narrower seats than Neyland.

I don't know what UGA you visited, but it wasn't the one in Athens, Georgia.

Yeah. Washington is considered one of the premier college football atmospheres in the Pacific/Mountain time zones and it’s essentially on par with Mississippi State.
