Cannot agree more. It’s T-shirt fan City, USA. And for a state college, that’s never a good thing. It’d be like LSU playing games in Alexandria.
After visiting Bama, Auburn, Starkville, Athens, Oxford, Gainesville, and Fayetteville (all in college), gotta go with:
Auburn as the best/nicest (shoutout to the all black fraternity whose colors are purple and gold and I drunkenly thought were LSU fans and they let us hang out with them all day!), and,
Florida as the most likely to wear hair gel.

The only place I've had any real complaints is at Mississippi State.
Only places I haven't been are Texas A&M and Missouri.

Went to a Jackson State/Southern game in Jackson and the Omega Psi Phi dudes were awesome to me as well.

Imagine not knowing what an isolated incident is.
Also if you run into an a-hole every day, you’re probably the a-hole

Best I've seen as for how the fans treat opposing fans was as Mississippi State. Incredibly nice, lots of free food and drinks, and enjoyable conversation about SEC football.
Worst by a mile was Georgia. I can honestly say I have never had a good fan experience in Athens, win or lose. Even had a grandmother curse and throw a piece of chicken at me on the way back to the car at my first visit in 1989--very surreal moment in my SEC experiences.

Worst is easily Tennessee and South Carolina.
Best so far has definitely been Georgia. Good baws down there.

May not have seemed funny while dodging the drumstick, but you had to chuckle when you got back to your car.

I enjoyed my trips to Jordan-Hare.
Baton Rouge was always a mixed bag. Sometimes people screamed some insane shite at me, but other times they'd be the most welcoming people I knew. It's like as a fanbase, they don't know if they're more comfortable being hospitable or setting fire to something.

She was just trying to toss you a snack for the road. Not her fault that you can’t catch.

Agree with Little Rock being the worst and it’s not even close. It’s a shame bc Fayetteville is wonderful. Biggest fight I have ever witnessed in person occurred on the golf course after the game. Arkansas fans started fighting amongst themselves. At least 100-150 actively fighting. There was some collateral damage to passers by, but it was insane. This is just one of many things I witnessed there, but LR brings out the worst in Arky.

A lot of truth to this imo. Most road fans I’ve seen have bad experiences were doing something to instigate the poor treatment.
I’ve never had a bad experience anywhere. Some hostility at times, but that’s expected in a big game environment.
I’ve never been treated like a king anywhere either. Totally neutral.

Almost like the fanbase isn’t just a singular person. Deep thoughts, man.

It was more to note that the fanbase seems to swing wildly between two extremes, rather than having fans between the ends of the spectrum.

You’re probably right. The attitude of a collective group of over 100k people simultaneously swing between two extremes. It couldn’t possibly be your perception. Makes sense.

I agree everyone isn't the same but most fanbases/stadiums have a vibe, and that vibe can be different depending on opponent or magnitude of a game.

Best- LSU in 2014 and 2018. In 2018 we sat in 417 and LSU fans were great. The first question they asked was if we went to UA. Once we told them we graduated from Alabama they were classy, said they just hated our sidewalk fans.
Worst- Ole Miss. Went in 2014 and will never go back. I have never seen as many POS's in one setting. They are the best losers but absolute worst winners.

I agree with you, but that also applies to the individual. Like someone said earlier, if you keep running across assholes, you’re probably the a-hole.
I’ve been to several stadiums. I’ve seen assholes at every one. It’s no different than walking around your city in a typical Wednesday. However, for the most part, every trip to another stadium has been a positive experience. Like anything else, if you go out looking for assholes, all you will see are assholes. In reality, it’s just a small number of dumbasses who happen to be wearing a different color t-shirt at the time.
Except Florida. frick Florida and their Nazi Campus Police force.
