So if it's allowed, and hypothetically, the rest of the SEC teams pick up former pro players, what do you think the Big 10, ACC, and Big XII would do?

I think instead of LSU being on an island, suddenly the SEC would be on island on this issue (assuming all SEC members are ok and united on the issue, which is highly doubtful)

It's going to escalate regardless, why LSU fans don't see the long game is beyond me

What rules have LSU violated?

Well IF LSU actually follows through with this madness and places former NFL players on their roster and then plays them...they will have violated the rule that THEY VOTED FOR just a week ago. In essence, LSU voted for a rule that they would known they would break if given the chance to do so.

This is all a massive troll job by Kiffin that the LSU admin is playing along with. They arent going to play these players. It would be massively stupid for them to do it.

For the dimwitted LSU SEC rant posters...ill explain it. The SEC doesnt have to agree to play any player that has eligibility. It has jurisdiction to set standards above that which are the minimum eligibility standards to play college sports. It doesnt matter if they are ruled eligible, the SEC can still deny their ability to play in the SEC. Doesnt mean they cant play elsewhere...just means that they cant play for an SEC team. Normally the commissioner has that authority...but the 16 University Presidents of the member institutions all unanimously voted to prohibit the players in question from playing for an SEC school, removing any judgement call by the commissioner. Again for the 1000th time, this included a yes vote from the LSU President.

You can cry about Chambliss...and you would have had a fair argument...but the conference accepted him back and LSU didnt put up a fuss about it at the time. The conference has decided to draw a line at pro players and not one on medical redshirt extra years. It is what it is. LSU agreed to it.

LSU did abstain from the penalties vote for violating this rule...but the 15 other schools passed it.

Your local podunk Judge can rule them eligible. He can make a ruling that LSU wont be punished...but that would be wildly overstepping his jurisdiction. It doesnt stop the 15 other SEC schools from suing LSU in a Federal court. It doesnt stop the SEC from appealing the ruling. It cant stop the SEC from a boycott. LSU would be just putting their full faith in the SEC forfeiting its sovereignty to every Tom, Dick and Harry local judge that wants to throw their local team a bone for political brownie points. If you think LSU can spit in the faces of the 15 other schools and have zero repercussions, youre delusional.

The reality is that you arent going to play these players and youll claim next week that it was all a 30d chess move troll job by Kiffin to fight the system.

Lane told OM to F off. That’s the rule LSU has violated. We violated their feelings.

You think the SEC has more power than the NCAA and will be able to directly defy court orders, and you’re calling other people dim witted.

I love this site.

The more I read all this, the more I seriously think LSU could end up getting booted from the SEC

Then you’re particularly stupid. I would keep that kind of stupidity to myself, if I were you.

It's just the opinion of everyone on here except LSU fans that this is a bad thing for college sports in general.
It is bad. Most everyone agrees it's bad. I want college football to be college football again. With that said, I think it's highly hypocritical for a commissioner to use the words, "blur the lines", at this particular time for this particular incident. The NCAA screwed up and created this current mess. If this was the same cfb that used to play by the rules, (1. before student athletes became professional players, 2. before free agency. 3. before teams allowing to win NC's with 24- and 25-year-old players competing against 18- and 19-year-olds. 4. before athletes playing 6, 7, and 8 years of cfb), then do what you have to do oblige by the rules, even though it was YOUR MISTAKE. Don't act like now the "lines are blurred", all of a sudden while turning a blind eye to what really destroyed cfb.

I hope LSU doesn't play these players because the idiots and the ignorant will never get it. In their feeble mine, LSU has to cheat. Look at what the ignorant are doing now hoping LSU will be kicked out of the SEC, lol.

Yes I am calling you dimwitted. I just explained it to you like I was explaining it to a small child, and you still didnt get it. Some of yall just dont have the brains to understand much.

I could explain to you the difference between State and Federal courts...but any tv courtroom is just basically the Supreme Court to you so itd be pointless.

Me? No I’m not. I don’t want these players to win.

They are going to win though, and all 300+ of them will be playing college sports in 2026/2027.

Their administration and more importantly the uber rich people who cut the NIL checks are not as dimwitted as the blowhards on this site. They arent going to risk their investment in this season over a tight end. They know Kiffin is just trolling for attention

This statement could have been stated 5 years ago and it’d have been correct. We are now in the escalation. So why everyone is shocked is also beyond me.

Seems like the players are planning to argue that the NCAA colluded with its member conferences to effectively bar them from playing, to skirt the court orders.

With all of the rules coming down within a week of each other, and after the issue started, they may have a decent argument. Maybe.

Really opened my eyes to current big time college football. (Already knew activist judges and lawyers have ruined America)

Everyone is arguing about whether the guys who couldn’t even make the first pre-season game on an NFL squad can play in D-1.

Those guys who couldn’t even sniff the NFL are getting paid big in college and yet we are all paying huge prices from seating to food and drink. To over priced players who actually blow. Yall guys are paying and arguing about the XFL. I switched to UALR on my profile (they don’t have a football team) to prove a point.

Lifetime Razorback football fan who will no longer watch them or pay a dime for over priced players who blow at real football. Until it’s fixed I will take my kids and money to real college football like Henderson. Kids that care and that actually give a crap about their state and program. I don’t even know who’s on the Razorback roster from year to year. I feel like people will follow eventually until they get this fixed.

Side note: I hope the activist judges side with LSU. Let it burn.

You regurgitating the same nonsense everyone else on the board is spitting doesn’t explain anything.

Let me break it down for you:

These players will likely get their TRO. When they do:

They will sign with several SEC schools
They will play during the 2026/2027 seasons
The SEC won’t do shite
The NCAA won’t do shite

If the TRO is denied, none of them will be rostered. Including by LSU. So again:

The SEC won’t do shite
The NCAA won’t do shite

All that bloviating you did means absolutely nothing.

You are one versus 15. You can try to convince yourselves you are fighting the good fight, but you're not. You chose your coach. You knew what he was. Looks like this is a line that the other universities and presidents say is a bridge too far.

"SEC membership comes with shared rules and shared responsibilities," Georgia president Jere Morehead said. "We expect every university to honor them, and we know there are consequences when we do not honor our rules."

Im sure they will. Unless every single conference in every division implemented this rule...itd be tough to prove
