We can counter with "how do you know urban won't die soon?"
Also any kid we're battling uf for wouldn't have to worry about getting a greyshit. You're being dumb

The fact is that he DOES have a scholarship offer, one that will be honored. It will just come a few months later than anticipated and will result in a stronger team. If the player in question (here, it is Porter) cares at all about the TEAM, then he would be ok with the situation. If the player only cares about himself, then he's Urban's or Saban's kind of guy.

"are you sure urban Meyer won't OD on sleeping pills this offseason"
"are you sure urban Meyer won't flag your sons ACT/SAT score out of spite?"
a separate thread wasn't necessary for this.

ETA: It's much more likely that the schollarship of a big time recruit like Freak, Robinson, Ego, Hilliard, OBJ, Z. Lee, etc. that we would be fighting Florida for will be honored than it will be that Meyer doesn't leaves UF for health or professional reasons.

SFP, I'm the biggest Miles basher on this site, but you have to admit that if Miles didn't sign his full 25 or 5 of the 27 didn't qualify you would be bashing him for that. In this matter Miles can't win so we, as Miles haters, should really back off. You know he didn't think a couple would make the grades as happens damn near every year. I'm gonn ahave to let Miles slide on this one as much as it sucks for Fordham and Porter.

He;s a 3 star lineman that got dealt a slightly raw deal because of a series of highly unlikely events.
The fact that you think how many stars he has affects how shitty this situation is says a lot.
Wether he had 1 or 5 stars, doesn't matter.

This- There have rumors for several years that Meyer is a 'negative' recruiter anyway. Not to mention, he quits, then he doesn't, which was probably 99% chance done so that it wouldn't hurt Fl's recruiting. If any kid or his parents thinks Meyers is a 'saint' then probably no chance we would get that kid anyway...

Because he does the exact same thing....

this shite happens routinely, guys just don't usually take it as personally as porter did.

Didn't good ole urban tell a recruit to read the rant and see what they had to say about their own coach/school?
If true, looks like the one's bashing the coach for the grey shirt was giving opposing coaches something to tell a kid before miles did. what's that say about them. are they as big a "douche" as they call miles?
thus this thread would be filled with hypocrisy.

exactly.
He's being a recruiting tard. This kid isnt a "star". He is a human being whose future you(LSU) is seriously fricking with.

It is ironic how some are worried about Porter being asked to greyshirt at the last moment. However, those that seem worrried the most about his feeling are the ones who bash current players and recruits the most. If you are going to speak up when you perceive a wrong doing then you better shut your mouth went a player does something bad or makes a mistake. Also, some bitch and complain every year about our recruits. How many current and former players, and recruits have been bashed over and over. The other day I read where some poster stated that "Paul Truner would ride the bench at LSU". Where was the outcry! Some will Bitch for no reason except to be heard. STFU if you have nothing positive to say. No one knows what went on behind closed doors with the Coaching Staff and Porter. And yes, I believe the Staff expected some kids to not qualify, just like every coach does every year. We do not live in a perfect world...

EDIT: found the story. from the book meat market..
EDIT2: thats what i meant. (since i cant waste #1000 explaining thats what i meant to OBUDan.)

You can’t tell the story about Jevan Snead enough (recounted in the book Meat Market). The funniest thing I read in it concerned what Urban Meyer told Jevan Snead. Snead had watched the Outside the Lines special on Tebow, which showed Meyer and OC Dan Mullen in the stands. Problem was, Meyer had told Snead, committed at the time, that he was the only quarterback they were going after. When Snead asked Meyer about it, Meyer responded, “We are recruiting him for linebacker.”

Reverse... Meyer told Snead he was recruiting Tebow to play LB.
