Think he had 6 walks in ~8 innings. Then again, we can't read too much into intersquad scrimmages
Heard Jay being interviewed yesterday and said he had forced Schmidt into an outing recently and took away his “safety blanket” whatever that meant. They were tinkering with some of his pitch mix, for sure. And it lead to some weird results Jay said

They have several starters & contributors from 2020-23 drafts
The Saints have a good start with the most recent draft but they haven’t stacked anything

What teams have had four year rebuilds? NFL rosters turn over too quickly to take that long.
Idk, you keep mentioning New England. They’ve been rebuilding since Brady left after 2019. Two coaches and several top 5 picks later, here they are.
It’s not always linear or properly quantifiable in the way you want it to be.

Be “fixed”(relative term) and compete for the division(in a terrible division) /=/ Super Bowl contenders

How many rosters are littered with elite players? Seattle, LA Rams, Philly (with a fraud at QB), Houston on defense. Maybe the Broncos on defense. Payton has done a masterful job on offense without much talent.
Jax & Chi have good rosters. The Chargers have a good roster with a bad OL. San Fran has a great roster that dealt with injuries. Cincy is a playoff team with Burrow healthy.
BUF and KC have generational QBs and have let their skill position talent criminally lapse, just like the Saints did at times with Brees.
This season is giving the Saints hope but some of these teams are way closer than we are and just need a tweak or break to jump back ahead again.
You do not need a ton of elite players but you need quality NFL starters and the Saints do not have a ton of those guys. Especially with the years Cam Jordan and Davis had on defense, they masked a ton of the deficiencies on that side of the ball. Offensively they are devoid of playmakers. It's just not a great roster.
