That dude is a sellout. Real Texas music fans don’t even claim him anymore. Texas Tech owns the Texas country music scene though.

Kenny Chesney -- Even though my guy sports whichever away teams attire that he's performing at/visiting that particular weekend. He's an East TN boy at his core.

Dolly Parton

No offense at all, but you’ve misunderstood him.
He very publicly counts his time in CSTX as some of the greatest years of his life.
He continues to be one of our university’s greatest ambassadors and has done more to give back (time and treasure) than just about anyone.

So yeah you’re pretty much a liar here

I mean, I've partied my arse off in Auburn on numerous occasions. Does that mean I love that place to death?

Also for UGA - James Brown. Performed “Dooley’s Junkyard Dawgs” in Sanford Stadium and was a big Dawgs fan. UGA has REM, Widespread Panic, The B-52’s, and The Godfather of Soul. ATM is probably the only school that can compete with REK, Lyle Lovett, and Roger Creager.

I'm good with this assessment. I don't actually think Keen 'hates' A&m or College Station, I would however argue he most likely has conflicted feelings there. And I don't even mean A&m in particular, just about any organization which is perceived to enforce conformity, or conservative parts of the country where folks really worry about perception. I mean, one just has to listen to Front Porch to get a feel for his humorous "I'm going to party anyway regardless of what you people think" take on life. It's all good, as I said I'm a big fan and was half serious/ half just wanting to see what kind of rise I would get with that

Given that Dolly holds an honorary doctorate, and that UT rarely hands those out, you have to include her as well.

And Kenny is actually from Maynardville. He went to HS at Gibbs but I know his family.

Florida gets the Brothers, as well as Tom Petty, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Derek Trucks, and Molly Hatchet, with additional claims to Stephen Stills (LSU could also claim), Bo Diddley, and Gram Parsons.

Jax WAS Southern Rock for decades.

So you're just naming every musician with the slightest connection to your state? Good God, the rant doesn't have the bandwidth to handle Tennessee's list if that's the standard.
