Non LSU fans, do y’all think he’s funny, cool, and interesting? Do y’all think he’s doing a decent job? I’m curious what people outside of LSU think about this guy.

0 is a funny, cool, and interesting guy that does a decent job, curiously.

I don't think there's much "there" there

I like coach O. I wouldn't want him actually making big decisions, but he seems like a great guy, a hard worker, and a really good recruiter. He needs a top notch staff, including coordinators who can run their own units. But I like old shrimp boat cap'n.

He has personality, but personality doesn't win game. My honest opinion is that he's a good recruiter (which I guess means that personality can at least contribute a bit to winning) but I've yet to see any reason to consider him a great gameplanner or gameday coach. His biggest advantage seems to be that he's been reasonably successful and nobody can prove that a different HC would have done better, especially against their more difficult opponents. He certainly seems oddly outcoached in games where LSU should be crushing things on talent advantage alone.

I like ole Ed and I wish him success.....just as long as he doesn't beat The King.

I remember a couple years ago when a portion of the LSU fan base seemed to think O was something of a snake in the grass. There were claims that both at USC and LSU O's behavior behind-the-scenes was at variance with his public persona as he is tried to gain position as the choice for HC and undercut other coaches in the process. I wonder if that portion of the fan base still holds the same belief or if the fans have altered their perspective in any way

Great recruiter. Seems like his players love him. Better than most give him credit for.
With that being said, I can't ever see LSU winning the SEC and/or making the CFP with him at the helm.

I understand that but I had LSU 10-2 or 9-3 at worst. My point was everyone thought Auburn would be a juggernaut and no one saw the Georgia game coming. I wasn’t surprised LSU won just that they beat them so badly. Miami I knew was a paper tiger and said so

Les and his fake stupid act

I coached two of his kids and my wife was an intern with the football team (video) and I promise you it is not an act. He’s a really smart guy, but he is equally goofy and uncharistmatic.

He’s definitely an upgrade from Miles.

I liked Les as a person but not as the coach of my Tigers. Seemed like every close game, I was on pins and needles, scarred to death he would do something to screw up the time we had left. I think Coach O has done a lot better job with clock management.

He’s a perfect high school coach. Ridiculous that he’s at a school like LSU

I like him and I believe he is a good coach. I do believe he is in over his head right now, but he's a good coach. I just think that this year is about LSUs ceiling with him.
