Western New Jersey is beautiful. Megalopolis New Jersey not so much.

Louisiana is a fine state. They do have some issues. I’d be hard-pressed to say it’s the worst, though.
I’d much rather live in Louisiana than California or any of the NE states.

Southern Illinois (Little Egypt) actually doesn’t have many corn fields. You may be thinking of Central Illinois. Southern Illinois is actually a pretty scenic area.

I've only been to CT twice, but both times it felt like the most soulless, depressing place I've ever been in North America.
My inlaws had a home in Vermont, and we loved going to New England. But Connecticut felt like a movie set or something. Maybe I was high

went to an SEC school and didn't play lacrosse.
Your best bet is to invest in SC property with NY funds. Retire early down there and visit NY every Christmas when they light the tree
