Graduates in two weeks, that's one reason he didn't leave.

QB coach Enos has helped him a lot so he may not leave at all now.

What do you believe? Was Jalen going to transfer due to the lack of playing time and at Alabama? Were the rumors true? Or do you believe the story as written that he was a kid who took his benching like a man and was never planning on going anywhere?

He will graduate this month which is exteremly important to him.

Further, Saban brought in Enos to work with QB's Jalen knew he had to improve to become a real QB so it was a question o staying, graduating, and focusing on his craft.

I guess Hurts is getting paid well to stay as backup with Tide. Some of the players that stay their sr year instead of declaring for NFL baffles me too. Must be some nice incentives to stick around.

If his goal is the NFL he needs to play somewhere next year and have a body of work on tape, so we will see what happens since he graduates this month.

Who is saying that his legacy will be hurt if he transfers at the end of the season? I don't think anyone will blame him for moving on to play his last year. He did the right thing by not abandoning his teammates right before the season started or mid-season (like Kelly Bryant did), and leaving the team in a lurch without and experienced backup QB (plus he got really good QB coaching from Enos). If/when he decides to leaving at the end of this season, if any Bama fan doesn't wish him the very best, then they are probably a horrible person. I will root for him in every game he's in (unless he his playing Alabama of course).

Our first and second rounders leave early every year. Some years others leave when they are not ready and it usually bites them in the shorts in the draft.

A couple of really good players chose to stay after they missed parts of their Jr years with serious injuries.

I won't lie. I wish we had him.

I know it will never happen, but damn I wish it was possible.

I believe Gary said during the Iron Bowl that Nick planned to encourage him to look some place else at the end of the season. Not sure how Saturday changed that, but I will say Jalen deserves all the credit in the world. Very impressed he stuck it out and happy for him as a person.

IMO Jalen thought he would be better off in bama's system this season with a transfer to play next season some place else. Having Nick call scouts and talk about your work ethic and commitment can't hurt in the draft process.

Would he stick it out at Bama. Take a red shirt (gets to play in 4 games) next year then Start his final year at Bama? Have a chance to win NCs, this year next year and as the man the following year? This assumes Tua will go pro after next year.

Bama will be better next year and will be the favorite to win it all.

If Bama wins it all this year then They will repeat next year. Tua would be 30 & 0 as the starter with 3 NCs (43-1 while at Bama)

A lot of this was on his dad. If Bama can keep Enos and split time up more equally next year I think he might get could be persuaded to stay. I hope he does because regardless of what he did Saturday night he is the kind of kid you want around your program.

Regardless of whether he transfers or stays...he seems like a guy that gets some kind of player award named after him. 10 yrs from now, at the EOY banquet will win the "Jalen Hurts teammate award"

He is definitely a better qb, at least from what I saw, this year compared to last year. Still, I just don't think he can beat out Tua.

Not sure what he decides, but he could start at a ton of schools, if that is how it goes. And I get you. I would want him to stay as well. But, don't you agree most fans will be thankful for him no matter what?

He could do a lot worse than transfer to Florida. He would be scary in that offense and Merlin's track record with qbs speaks for itself.

If anything, his performance in the SC championship solidified him transferring. He looked much better passing the ball and teams will come knocking.

My guess is he will graduate and then transfer.

Whatever he does, it's easy to say that it was a blessing and a pleasure to have him as a representative of the U of A. He's been a role model not only to incoming recruits but to all the young Alabama fans across the country. I suspect that he'll be a VIP anywhere in Alabama if/when he comes back to the state, whether to visit or to live....the welcome mat will always be there for him.

I don’t think it will hurt him either. He cemented his place in Bama folklore for years to come and will be remembered as such.
