1992 Cotton Bowl. First one I can coherently remember.
Really didn't become a fan of college football in general until the 1993 season. We were living in Orlando at the time and to say that Florida State was dominant that year was an understatement.
I remember at one point when Derrick Brooks outscored FSU's first three opponents by himself...at LINEBACKER.

My dad said it was ironic that the losing team went from there to a bowl game and the winning team fired their coach.
Tennessee went from 1974 until the 1979 season without going to a bowl. They were 4-7 in Majors' first year.

I don't think it was '67. I think that was the first night game on national TV. CPB said it was one of worst games he'd ever been a part of. I could be wrong. Maybe the first prime time color broadcast?

Nope...Johnny's first season was '77. That '77 game was Fran Curci's last game at Kentucky. My dad said it was ironic that the losing team went from there to a bowl game and the winning team fired their coach.

My twin brother and I were 4 years old when our step-dad took us to the Big Game... Stanford Indians [sic] vs Cal. I remember the cheer "Give'um the axe, the axe, the axe the axe the axe..."
I was 9 years old when I saw my first important game on TV (that I remember). It was on a little black and white set, one of the worst games ever ... the 1954 cotton bowl, Alabama vs Rice, when the Alabama player came off the sideline to tackle that freaking-azz Rice running back as he was heading for yet another touchdown. I went home and cried.

The 1963 Iron Bowl.
George Wallace flipped the coin.
Mailon Kent came off the bench to lead Auburn to a 10-8 win after Jimmy Sidle got hurt on Auburn's first offensive series.
